Flashlight for the Bush

I had a nitecore d10 and it was awesome until it snapped in half (my fault, covered by redonkulous warranty)

Just got a Quark AA, seems to be pretty good.

I really like the size of it and the pocket clip. Not so much a fan of the morse code SOS mode... I keep hitting it by accident.

That's why I ordered the tactical version - you can program just two modes that are changed by twisting the head. No playing clicky with the switch.

Although it does mean you have to remember how to reprogram it if you actually need one of the other modes.

I'm well impressed with mine. With a 14500 lithium cell it's as bright as the AA2 on turbo. I really like lights that give a good range of battery options.

That's a very cool tip Rick. I never thought of using the 14500.

TIABLO A1...single best and most reliable AAA torch i've used. been dropped in lakes, used through storms. it's my EDC in the woods. can't go wrong with anything fenix though.
i also ALWAYS have a fenix E01 on my. this is great for low light, ALSO it doubles as a backup AAA battery for the tiablo if need be.

I carry three lights with me when I am hiking or hunting.

First is my keychain Photon II. I love it! It is EDC for me also.

Second, I carry a small headlamp that I got from Cabela's. I am not sure about the lumens, but it has a large LED and uses one AAA battery. I use that all the time during hunting season to safely navigate climbing into and out of my stands in the dark. Small, light, and bright head lamps are very convenient.

Third, I carry a mini-Mag that has a 3 LED drop-in lamp. It uses two AA batteries. I have had this mini-mag for years and it keeps on working no matter what. For the price, it is hard to beat. I have a head band that makes it into a head lamp, I can put different lenses in it. You can adjust the throw and the spill somewhat. You can also make it into a electric candle for lighting up a room or tent too. I know there are other flashlights that are superior to it in many ways, but I have had it for so long that I'll just keep using it.

Another vote for Fenix. Battery options, headlamp capable, several modes. And not too pricey. I wish Surefire would come out with a similar setup. I also like that I can change my battery options. My P2D can also be a P1D or an L2D. That translates to either 2 CR123(or RCR123), 2 AA's, or 1 AA.

On another note, I never carry only one light. They are small enough to where you can at least have two. I have a modded cabelas with a wolf-eyes I use for throw. My next drop-in will definitely be a Malkoff though.

Flashlight for the bush-a small one that can handle some moisture !!!! Had to laugh at that one buddy, maybe it's just my dirty mind !!!!!!!
