, you did it again! And the dust has not even settled from your City Stock. You add the special touches that make already great GEC knives something truly unique and wonderful. For the ages! Congratulations! We are so fortunate to be collecting during this era of your SFO’s.
Has GEC changed their finishing process on the City Stock and this knife? I ask because the bone looks and feels especially smooth and polished on both of these knives. I hope Bill Howard continues to experiment with the jigging he used on your lamb. I especially like the ones that do not have well defined herringbone lines. I realize you were going for that type of pattern, but the ones that don’t have a well defined pattern look amazing to me. They have the beautiful random look of vintage knives which I believe GEC has a really hard time replicating. They are great at tire tread type patterns, but their attempts at random jigging often looks like a beaver was chewing on the bone or like they gave middle school kids dremel tools and let them at it.
