Some one mailed me and ask if I could post some pics showing the progression of the grind as the angle of the bubble was changed.

Hope this helps.

This shows the first grind @ 5.0 degrees; it is the light blue at the bottom of the blade. [I re sprayed the knife with lay out bluing before grinding with the 4.0 degree but after the 5.0 degree setting. The same picture shows the results of the 4.0 degree setting, it is the shiny area in the middle, above that has been untouched.

The 3.5 degree angle was used here.

This is the 3.0 degree setting.

I made a lot of steel shavings this day

As you can see on the large clip point at the bottom, the grinds intersect as you move up the blade. I would harden at this point.
