Flat grinding platen

glass did not conduct heat ....................................

Glass leads to heat, it is not a good conductor, but leads it.

Over the years I have tried A2, ceramic tiles and pyroceramic. Of the three the best, in my opinion, is pyroceramic. To place the pyroceramics I use the bi-adhesive tape, the heat tends to decrease the force exerted by the tape but I have never had problems. Other knifemakers with epoxy (I do not know which) had the detachment of pyroceramics .... the idea of making small lip or shelf on the bottom of the steel platen to keep the glass I find it good and I applied it to one of my grinder machines.... Gentlemen, safety first of all.

Any of you run a pyroceram platen with a platen chiller?
I'm wondering if the pyroceram would insulate to much and reduce the chiller platen effectiveness?
