Flea Market Find - update: post-spa pix

Hey Burton:

I forgot to mention this: I *only* use Plastikote enamels. They have different flavors for different requirements. I spit like a Mousquetaire on any other brand one can buy from a major chain hardware store. Haven't had luck with those at all.

What's your citric acid set-up?

That looks great. If you like restoring old tools, have you tried electrolytic rust removal? It's jut like magic and it works so well that when you see the results you will see all kind of stuff that you can try it on.

Thanks for sharing.

Ahhh--not yet. It is on the long to-do list of shop tool fabrications that are queuing up like ants at a picnic--it's almost frustrating but I try not to balk at tool work, since it will lend itself to a better operation later on. The perfect ultrasonic machine was offered to me yesterday for a song but alas, I took my 1" aluminum plate and left before Art loaded it into the truck. Is your setup documented here in the forum somewhere? With photos? Would you share your setup here? I'm in a mood to be jealous ;) and inspired.

Thanks for looking.

I'd mug a man for his bag of Fairmount bagels. Go ahead--try me.

FINALLY! [what was that--<48 hours?]

Very happy you are happy. Now crush some Veuve in that mutha for ceremony and make me a sushi knife I can hide in my hair. You know, just in case I'm trapped on an island with Jiro.

No monuments allowed in the basement. That's final.

Sorry, I don't have anything about it online but a Google search for electrolytic rust removal will yield multiple howtos and setups. And they explain it much better than I ever could. For the small amount of time needed to set it up and the results you can achieve, I'd bump this ant to the front of the line if I were you. ;)
