Flea market finds

Thanks, guys! These knives make me nostalgic: a kid could go into the five&dime and find an affordable treasure like this. Just like the Imperial Barlows, even when the construction is the cheapest possible build, they used the same good steel as on the fancier knives.
I made the old fellow laugh when I said that those Kents made me want to get a cane pole, catch and clean a mess of panfish!

Here's a couple from earlier last Summer.

That Imperial Barlow you gave me sure has served me well.

The gun show was in town today, and I found this Imperial serpentine jack in the $5.00 bin. The blades have fantastic snap, and appear to still have factory edges. Other than some pepper spotting, and a small split in the handle cover material on the pile side, it is in great shape. Just couldn’t leave it there for five bucks!

I still like these sidelock plate lock backs. The engraving on this Galazan Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Co. is a really intricate Rose Scroll pattern. Got this over the summer at the local flea market for a little north of $20. Way cheaper than the Berettas and made much better.

The small Sebenza 21 is for size comparison. :)

Nice one, T! That looks like it's actually hand engraved, not just stamped or etched!

Thanks, the look and texture change depending on what type of light and where it comes from. It's made very well and sharp too, cut myself on it within 15 minutes of buying it. I knew it was mine after that. :) The Beretta ones look really cool just stay away from the swinglocks.

Although I can't seem to find a picture of one, they made it as a lockback too and with wooden scales but I like the engraved ones the best, Beretta calls it a Bascula knife.

.......same for this Imperial Equal End. It was so full of lint and crud I didn't even notice the scale shrinkage. But it's cleaning up nice. Gonna have to put some new scales on this one day. Imperial made them in both bone and celluliod.

That Imperial may well be a USAAF/USAAC or Navy BuAer stores knife from the aviation life support kits. Configuration was always spear main with long pull groove and sheepfoot and pen secondary blades. Is the tang stamp without the crown?
