Flea market finds

Couple of schrade finds today.

Gotta love the good ol' 34OT, I definitely love mine.

I saw this in a bin with 20-30 other "crappy" knives at a flea market and liked the shape of it. It was rusty and I could not budge the pen blade but I took a chance for $4. I needed pliers to open the pen blade for cleaning, now both blades open by hand. It still needs further cleaning and the walk to smooth out some, but it snaps now. I imagine that it is rosewood? The knife is 3-3/8" long closed, with steel liners and bolsters. I have never seen or heard of Miller Bros before, glad I picked it up.

Very nice find, and superb clean-up!:thumbup: I think I've seen vintage Miller Bros knives in threads here in the traditional subforum, and I'm quite sure Frost now has the name and uses it on some line of knives I saw in that Tennessee catalog.

Picked these up at an antique/junk store. KaBar 1013 and a advertising Barlow made in Japan... Seems to be good quality, but the only info is a B inside a circle and made in Japan circling around it. Has small scissors also. $7.00 each, thought I'd try it.

Congrats, Mitch!:thumbup: That 2-blade KaBar Barlow is a prize!

I was finally feeling well enough to get out of the house and do some yardwork. I did also get out to the flea market this morning, and had a pretty good haul.

The pearl is a Providence Cutlery Germany. The black scout knife is a sword brand Camillus. The Laguiole is neat, but needs new covers. The boker is my favorite of the bunch.
Splendid scores, Glenn!:thumbup: That Boker is REALLY special, but they're all pretty doggone good, IMHO.
(I must go to the wrong class of flea markets! :D Any ONE of the knives you found in your "pretty good haul", I'd probably call a once in a lifetime flea market find!)

Thanks. I usually don't do this well. It could be that the outdoor flea markets have just started up for the season up here, so people have some decent stuff right now.

That makes sense, Glenn. Maybe I should have checked out the flea market yesterday instead of finalizing the tax returns!:D

Really nice haul!

I got this today for $6. Have done no cleaning yet.

Southington Cutlery Co (1864-1914) swell center Jack, 3.75" good walk and talk.

I'd do that deal all day. Great knife!

Made my first trip to the flea market today and came home with this US made Imperial Kamp King. It's in great condition with only one rust spot on the punch and one spot on the pile side of the main blade. Good action on all four implements. Also found a seemingly brand new SAK Classic with a promotional print for $2!

Sadly, the guy had maybe 20 knives, mainly knock-off SAKs and some really beat up old Imperials.

Here's the Kamp King. Not too bad for $8!

Not a bad weekend haul. I picked up a pretty nice Utica jack at an antique/vintage toy store and a promotional knife hone that looks like a spark plug.

Clutchcarter, that Utica looks to be in fantastic shape. Excellent find! That Spark Plug Hone would be a great tchotchke for your shed or garage.

Fresh from Canton TX.

Ranger Stockman, 3 spring
Case med Stockman no shield, broken blade
Camillus ez open jack, broken covers on the back side (pitty I know)
early Imperial with pinned bolsters and punch.

Some of these are rescues, the Imperial is my favorite out of the bunch, with the Camillus a close second. The Camillus will need some TLC before being ready for action. The back cover is half missing, a shame for such nice jigged bone. Might have to have one of our capable modders fix it up for me. The Ranger and Case need a good cleaning, but they are in good shape beyond the surface staining.

That Imperial is my favorite out of the bunch also!

The name of your Laguiole (Etalon = Stallion or Standard) says nothing to me. Au Vieux Campeur (old camper) sells all about outdoor and outdoor sports. It started as a small shop after WWII, now spreads all over the Quartier Latin with at least 20+ specialized shops plus shops in ten other towns.
The only Laguiole they are selling now are Chinese or Pakistanese Baladeo. No tang stamp could indicate a similar origin.

Interesting, the liners/bolsters are all brass construction, which I have seen on a lot of the Paki knives, so maybe that is what it is. Thanks for that info!

Clutch, that's only the 2nd Knife Hone like that that I've seen. The other being the one I've had for ??? years. I can't remember if I bought mine or it was given to me. The markings on mine is only Autolite over Knife Hone. Since yours has a price on the package makes me want to look and see if I can pick up a couple more of them. Nice Haul!!!
