Let it begin -

From Fridays haul -

In that pic you have some Plumb hatchets of various, guaranteed, genuine, etc. The two miner looking axes are 3 1/2 Councils - total of $5 for both. The two saws are in good shape are were a steal. Plumb rafting axe $5

Then Saturday -

In that one you have (L - R) a Sager chemical 1944, Forest King, Red Warrior, Craftsman, 2 Mann Edge cruisers, cattle killer, Collins 3 1/2 and Flint Edge. Hatchet is a Council El Lobo with matching sheath from Council.

This one - $7......

Was going to go Sunday too but out of $$$ and grass is out of control.....

Congrats and thanks for saving them! Some amazing finds there.

I have no such luck here, but great to see that some do. Keep it up!

Wow! I'm lucky to see 2-3 axes per Sunday. And I can't find a flea market on Friday and Saturday:(

Like the cattle killer. And that forest king solves a riddle for me. Been trying to figure out the make of a axe with the same paint job, no label or stamp.
Nice hall.

Wow Operator! You go out in 2 days and haul back enough nice quality axes and hatchets to triple my current collection. Impressive!

Pretty nice haul of axes, saws and hatchets. Very nice. I love hitting flea markets for goodies like that.

Who made that Forest King axe? From Axe Makers of North America, I get the impression there may have been more than one company using the phrase over the years but that one is the same as the swampers that we had in all our Weyerhaeuser timber company fire tool boxes back when I worked in the woods. Sold in LARGE numbers by the local logging supply houses. Still have at least one of the out in the barn.

Thanks! I sure used a lot of those Forest King axes in the past. Haven't been in the company firehall for many years but I bet there are still several hundred racked up there waiting for the "big burn." No reason I can think of they would have replaced them with newer axes, especially given the quality of the imported stuff sold in bulk by the logging supply places these days.

Makes me want to go hit some flea markets....Nice stuff Operator

Thanks for starting this thread, though I feel a bit puny in comparison:)

Yesterday I got a few decent pieces at the flea.

The little one is a Plumb that is beveled only on one side with a good handle in overall great shape: $2

The big one is a "True Temper Kelly Perfect," although the stamp is a bit light: $1

And the middle one is a keeper. Collins Connecticut in overall very good shape: $15

Finally, I picked up a Kelly brush hook for forum member Deoje. This thing has a good stamp and a perfect handle: $20 plus tax (got it at a store next to the flea).

Overall a pretty good Sunday:)

Thanks so much. Those look great. I need to take a trip to your area to find some of these treasures.
