Flicking knives all over the place, "Am I the only one that does this?"

I fondle all the time at home esp when watching netflix. The GF is completely used to it. Never ever in public though.

I see a direct correlation between this thread and the 'WTF is People's Problem with knives I carry?". I don't unless at home with nobody present (like my 5 yr old) who would notice me tinkering with it, lest they think I'm playing with a knife, which is BAD. And for all you 'a knife is a tool' guys who fiddle with your knives in the open, do you also fiddle with your hammer and pliers? Guess why people are disturbed with your knives? Because you're being careless.

Used to but not so much anymore, with a few exceptions, BM 730 Ares, BM AFCK and my Pat Crawford folder they beg to be flipped.

I don't so much in public view. I do in my house or when I open the knife to do something around someone that I know it won't shock. But I think to the general public it's a little disturbing. Think about it, if someone you didn't know was walking around your neighborhood flicking a knife open wouldn't that cause you to be a little alarmed?

Never in public. I rarely play with my knives at home unless there's a reason for it, like breaking in a lock etc.

I don't generally flick knives anyway, and it would be out of place to do so in public where I live. I edc larger knives like a PM2 or Manix, and would not want the negative attention it would bring.

I've gotten pretty bad about it, several of us do it around the office. But I've caught myself doing it without thinking in public. I've got a zip tie on my old school manix and for some reason, I can't help but flick that one...

Nice to know I'm not the only one!

Do it all the time. Whenever I get a few extra seconds at work I scramble into my pocket to get a quick fix of the flick and always hear someone shout "oh look he's playing with a knife again".

Hehe always :D Girlfriend is used to it, even asks to play with my knives sometimes, not in public so much, lotsa crazy people would think I'm some sort of thug  (like my dad)

Welp I'm extra weird I guess. I do it in the tub when im zoning out, and if I happen to be on the toilet (Sorry guys, gettin personal) i'll just sit there and flick out my newest blade

I do it all the time at home, but not in public any more. I was sitting in a local coffee shop one day, and was mindlessly repeatedly deploying a Zero Tolerance 0400ST. Somebody walked up to me, complimented me on the knife, asked if it was an auto ... and then suggested that I may want to be more respectful of the sheeple in the shop who are afraid of knives. :(

I don't in public, but at work or at home I flick my knives quite often.

I don't flick so much anymore, most frequently I'll open it and then start twirl it into reverse grip, forward, reverse, forward, etc.

I practice drawing my knives. Waved knives always impress people. One guy was convinced it was sitting open in my pocket.

only times i flick is to try it out at home or if i'm going to use the knife. i don't unnecessarily go around flicking knives in public, just out of respect for the community, i feel no need to, and so i don't look like some psycho. :D

Yeah I agree. I don't unnecessarily flick my knives around in public (I'm sure I'd scare a lot of people) but I'll do it at home or if I'm walking around in the woods, which is where I walk my dog

Cheers!

I do it while driving all the time.

I used to flick a lot while riding shotgun in my work truck. Forced myself to stop after being haunted by the scene in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels where a character gets impaled on his own knife in a collision. My knife now stays tucked in its pocket while on the road.
