Flight for Mav to the BCCI 08 Club Meeting

Hey Decaf, or anybody else that hears from Mav,
Maybe you could start a new thread if you hear from him? Kinda getting worried about him.

Joe - Some of us have gotten warnings (from other moderators than you) about "chatting" in this forum...The thread would have to concern a Buck knife, or so I am told...

That match what you were told, Jeff???

I wish I had a kalinga.;)

Well what fun is there in being a mod if I cant break the rules? Kinda like a knife that has no edge. (mandatory knife content). :D
To be truthful, I am a rookie moderator at best and was not aware of any rule regarding chatting. I am sure there is a good reason for that one that escapes me now.
So I wonder if it should bother me that a mystery moderator has come into this forum and done some tidying up without contacting me? Seriously, I dont know. Maybe it is the resposibility of every moderator to "police" the entire site?
Bladeforums does an awful lot in providing this site so I have no problem adhering to their rules. It just seems that it is taking a while to figure them all out, I am embarrassed to say.

I have a Buck 110 in my hand right now; it is brass and wood...I think you have hit the nail on the head...Especially if someone reports the infraction to the mod...

This Buck 110 has a sharp, pointed blade...I don't have any problems with rule following either; it's just so much quicker to just post a response than it is to tie in a Buck-specific comment with it...

...The blade folds into the handle!!!...It's even harder to stay on-topic... :D

The silliest thing is, I believe, Hawk and Chicken had their posts misinterpreted. They weren't "chatting" but overstating the obvious to a question.

And Joe, I think you simply forgot to ask in your post "where is Mav? I have questions regarding UK thoughts about Buck knives and want to ask him".

I have a 889 on me.

10-4..What Goose said.:)

Well This thread was about getting our Buck knife loving pal Maverick to make a jump over the big pond and land at the BCCI 08 meet and greet. So I think chatting part is the main point in this thread...or am I wrong????

Maverick is still MIA :( and has not returned any emails. Not sure where he is...I hope all is well with him. I'm still hoping he will come on over to be with us in Post Falls. However, as stated before if he backs out all funds will be returned.

CT,
You crack me up! :D Thats one of the funniest I've read in a while!

Oh yea, my desk is covered with about 100 sharp things. About 50 knives and the rest paperwork. Darn paper cuts!!

dito on what Hawkeye said...
oh yea is 10-4 a buck knife mod number?

The Buck 104 "Hunter" was a very handsome looking knife (the *original* 104; not the re-issued number 104 which is blah looking). I, along with at least two others, suggested that Buck re-issue it in some form or another...

And about that frozen-fish launcher...I think I can modify a potato blaster to fire the frozen fish...might have to trim it down a bit [the fish] with a Buck 119; make it more aerodynamic...but a 2-second shot of Butane should get that fishie moving right along... ;)

I really need to buy another General, don't I???

I must check the Bay for possible bargains.

Mav has disappeared???

How interesting.

I wondered how long it would take.

...That is a bit of a strange statement isn't it??...I wonder why Wally's doesn't carry 120's too though...and I don
't even have any fixed blades...

...That is a bit of a strange statement isn't it??...

well one may well come to that thought if one is maybe known to owe some one something...
me i hope is that he is very bussy and nothing has befallen him ...
many things could have happen like job location changes or loss
or heaven forbid health issues in the famley...
we should wate
he could have been embarrised also at the fuss to bring him here also...
we may never know, if we hear from him lets be glad we did...
if not have a hope he is ok...

Well said Decaf.

Trax...LOL...correct, there are several sources for 120 Generals. It is a great knife. I like mine and have you to thank for the 110BR and pre-86 especially :)

Intuition?

Read the old threads.

Strange?

I don't think so.

Exactly which parts of the old threads would lead you to believe that he has dropped out of sight???

I would like to see a 120 drop-point...I tried fudging one up in PSP, but got all discombobulated in the background... :grumpy:

I know the old threads you are refering to Rocinante but I'm still not sure what to think.

I'm carrying my 881 today.
