Flight for Mav to the BCCI 08 Club Meeting

Trax, I refer to the old threads about Mav's pursuit of that elusive scammer.....there were too many things there that just didn't seem to add up.

Maybe it's just me. I'm probably getting paranoid in my old age (although I do know there were others who were pondering those same loose ends).

Maybe I should just cut the loose ends with ..... maybe an Alaskan Guide 110 from Cabela's? No, I think maybe my old '80 Three Dotter would do well for that.

I'll have to think about it some more.

But are you paranoid enough??? :D

I find myself using a Buck 442 more and more...but that might just be because I'm getting a lot of packages lately...

Yeah, I get what you mean...Kind of a reverse scam, eh??? Did Maverick get anyone to underwrite his 'losses'??? IIRC, jb4570 was in on some of that, wasn't he??? :(

Idunno, I just think there should have been an investigation of that whole thing.....but only one person investigated it and people here just took his word for everything with no proof or verification from anybody.

I guess that seems unwise to me. I suppose I should be more trusting.

Was it Reagan who said, "Trust, but verify?"

:)

naw it was clinton that said that depends on how you define sex...

I think one of reasons that Maverick may be MIA is due to the offensive ramblings from one of the Forum folks "Rocinante". Mav had sent me an email when that conspiracy crap was getting posted.....I told him that we should not even engage that crap with any comments; as that individual likes to pick fights here. Mav was both angry and hurt by the insinuations. In hind site I should have told Rocinante to stick a sock in it back then...so...if you don't have anything nice to say....then don't say anything.

I wont stand for you slandering a guy I have a lot of respect for. Mav did a lot for me and I'm in his debt. So go troll some where else.

jb4570

Hmmmm......just one question.

Where did you hear that Mav had done a lot for you?

Sure.....take it out on me.

The whole thing is MY fault.

Yeah......that must be it.

:D

Look Rocinante the smelly stuff you dish out has no place at the Buck Forum!!! If you want to trash folks take it to "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly forum. We don't need this here. How about it Moderators??? Can Rocinate's post's be removed from this thread???

JB, just because you don't like the bad news doesn't mean you can kill the messenger.

I have the same right you do to put my 2 cents in here.

If I'm wrong, why is it that we never saw one bit of verification for Mav's story here??

Why has he disappeared?

Face it, the only person who told you that Mav did a lot for you was Mav......with no evidence to verify his story.

All I have done is to say I think there should be some verification from the police that an investigation was actually done.

Absent that, I don't believe a word of it.

And if I want to say that, I have every right to do so.

If you have begun to think you're better than anybody else here.....think again.

This story started with a person buying knives at a dreamer's price on e-Bay, then paying by Western Union (which NOBODY ever does) and (very predictably) getting scammed. Frankly, the whole story reads like bad fiction. I guess that takes care of the knife content.

well , in some ways i can see a tad on both sides...
the only story we have is from mav... no confermation from another sorce in england...
that said we have a lot of detail in the surch he told of...
when i read it most every thing i understood of the www seemed to jive...

i trust the guy... and at the same time i know that i am trusting on his word..
every one has thoughts on things and some dont jive with others...
heck some days mine dont jive with yesterdays!
yea had an argeument with my self and lost...

many times we can become involved with thoes we feel did some thing for us that made us feel good and yet maybe they dont feel that way in return...
i felt that he was some what embaresed by the fund to bring him here ...
why is his reasons but i did feel that from his postings...
i have a trade going with him i hope will finish at some time but tell i know diffrently for sure i chouse to give him all the slack and credit as a good person i can... if i can any one can and no one has to ...
that is why in any event thoes that judge want every opion of what happened to make decisions from... and hard evdance dont hurt either..that he seemed defensive to some one is court hearable testmoney..
that i went to trade with him is also..

that he liked 560's and 124 and the one he won for the contest is buck a roo enugh for me for the time being...

if i find his mailing address and it is some ware in one of these post
i will wright a letter to him to see what happeneds...
later
by the way i have a 424 blister pack and i need idears for a give a way contest ... or should i start a new thread for that?

Dave,

If you have a trade in the works w/Mav., I, for one, would like to hear of the outcome. IE: success or failure.

A successful knife trade with him by a known forumite as yourself would do away with most of the suspect about him here on the forum.

Could you share with us the kind of (Buck) knives you are trading?

Thanks,
Dan

I am unsure what that would change in anyones opinion, and I have no proof of any of the comments going on here, but Mav was always (and will continue to be until further notice ;) ) respected by me. I did several knife deals with him. He was always respectable, and honest. I even ordered some Nevrdull and he prepaid for me to order it and send it to him. He prepaid me to order him a Bass Pro 154CPM 110. I ordered it after he paypal'd and then shipped it to him a few weeks down the road. Buck had a sale on Alpha Dorados and I ordered one and sent it to him. He also prepaid.
We continued to email well after he quit posting on Blade forums. Even about his pimped out English car ;)
I hope Mav is healthy (alive) and not in the klink...

All I have to say about this is I still don't know which knife is my favorite EDC:
My Tempest, Catapult or my Ionfusion 110...

(just to stay on topic) ;)

I hope to see ya in 08 Mav

As I haven't followed closely ALL the posts regarding Mav., I take it as good news that someone here has had "personal" contact with him. I too hope he is doing well....thanks for the info.

IMHO, the 531 is still the best knife Buck has made.

I am unsure what that would change in anyones opinion,

I tend to go along with Jim on this issue. I've never met most of the fellas in our forum but I've still managed to become close friends with quite a few of you guys. You mostly never know who you're really conversing with when you become part of one of these forums yet I'd not hesitate to send a knife or money or a picture of goose's 7th wife naked to any of ya, if you really needed it, no questions asked. Good grief...I mentioned I was looking for a NS 112 a long time back and was having a hard time finding one and guess what appeared in my mail box one day...and it was from one of my friends who I've never met...I needed a blade for one of my very first "tinkering" projects and guess what happened...yep...another parcel arrived from another friend I've never met. We all have the right to be skeptical about issues and even people but I have to lean towards being optimistic about the people who are in our group and who aren't afraid to speak up both for and against something. No matter which direction this eventually goes...the good people in our group will always far outweigh the bad...and they are the ones who always make it nice to be here...I also hope that Mav is okay...and I still love the 298GY Sirus...and those 532's...:D

Well, I don't really need it...is that the one wearing the buck 120 on her belt, and Goose blocked out her eyes??? I could never quite figure that out...
