Well, as I cannot afford a full custom or the midtech I want, I am looking to get my first flipper framelock/liner lock. And I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions that are around $150 and below. Currently I am looking at just getting a Boker Kwaiken. I am appreciative to any suggestions. If you do provide a suggestion, could you please add why you think it would be a good choice. Thanks guys!

Edit: I would also prefer it have a high quality stainless blade.

Reate or the ZTs. I have the kwaiken as well. Its nice, just not on the level of Reate or ZT.

Seems obvious...most any of the sub-four inch Spyderco knives. The PM2 is the ultimate.

I'm a huge fan of the ZT 801, the Spyderco Domino, and the Reate Hills. I was not particularly fond of the Kwaiken, but a lot of people speak very highly of it.

There is a dealer exclusive Spyderco Domino with CTS-204p blade and blue G10, and it is within your budget currently. Very good EDC friendly sized knife with a top of the line stainless steel. Even the standard Domino is a great knife, but the steel wouldn't be as "special".

There are also plenty of competitive options from ZT, as they've been knocking it out of the park this year. There are the 0808, 0801, 0562, and 0450, all of which are within your blade length and budget preferences. The 0450 might be a bit hard to find in stock since all of the Sinkevich collabs sell like hotcakes.

There is also the Reate Hills.

Did the op edit his price range because so far ecery suggestion is over the current budget. At $150 or below its either a user zt, reate, boker or crkt. But even then its slim pickings. If you dont need bearings and/or mind assisted opening many kershaws would suffice. S30v skyline might be good.

User ZT? I got a brand new 0560 for exactly 150.

Where and how? Im not saying its impossible but its not the norm. Those knives dont sell at dealers under $200 in most scenarios. And if your answer is I got it new from someone on the exchange, If I buy a knife at walmart and put it for sale on a forum it may be like new but its not technically new and you are relying on honesty and integrity of the seller. My recommendations are based solely on what this person can go out without any waiting or hunting and just go buy his knife. I bought a like new piranha excalibur for $100 or something ridiculous. But that doesnt mean anyone can just go out and buy them for that. There is luck and there is retail.

$150 and under? The discontinued Kershaw Lahar. There are a few bouncing around the exchange and the bay should be able to get a LNIB one for under $125 mine is freaking awesome! Made in Japan VG10 steel. ZT 0200 is actually a HELL of a flipper and can easily be had for sub $150 just remember that it is so big its like carrying a brick in your pocket. ZT 0566 standard Elmax can be had for that much as long as you dont mind assisted knives. ZT 0350 is one of the most practical knives ZT makes and has a nice big flipper and a strong assisted action hell Ive got 3 of em. Or save your cash and get the best production flipper there is the ZT 0801 of which Ive got 2. They have different detent strengths but both flip like a rocket on bearings. The flipper on a Kwaiken is waaay to small.

now thats a killer suggestion a 0200. I really dig those and are an amazing value. And with them being dino's and soon to be extinct now is the time to bank on that idea. In fact, i have shopping to do. If I can find a way to retrofit KVT, lol.

The exchange. $150 shipped to my door. I've seen a couple other new ones for that price there too.

Rappy-do you have one of those Vantage Pro's? How do you like it? Read lots of negative reviews and comments on them though...

ZT 0566 is $144 in basic form.
ZT 0450 is $160 (just outside budget)
Both are great EDC size and use great steel. I would lean towards the 0450 if you could find one. Full Ti handles and I think it just looks better.
