Floaty Frog Update

Dave--I already own several Marsh pieces. For some reason, the strangely shaped tiaras fit my head perfectly.

there is weeping in a small underwater city off the coast of florida:
and they are planning their revenge. they have sent their legions of floaty frogs ahead to prepare the way.......

"Across a covered bridge one sees a small village huddled between the stream and the vertical slope of Dome House, and wonders at the cluster of rotting gambrel roofs bespeaking an earlier architectural period than that of the neighbouring region. It is not reassuring to see, on a closer glance, that most of the houses are deserted and falling to ruin, and that the broken-steepled church now harbours the one slovenly mercantile establishment of the hamlet. One dreads to trust the tenebrous tunnel of the bridge, yet there is no way to avoid it. Once across, it is hard to prevent the impression of a faint, malign odour about the village street, as of the massed mould and decay of centuries. It is always a relief to get clear of the place, and to follow the narrow road around the base of the hills and across the level country beyond till it rejoins the Aylesbury pike. Afterward one sometimes learns that one has been through Frogwich."

Where the architecture is wrong, no angles just, curved lines.... frogs and madness lie within... where a tiara-clad horr':SDr

Excuse me . Just when did gentlemen start wearing Tiaras ? Is it to make yourself look more like you have cricket antennae ? (sp) Do you wish to worship your God from the inside ? L:O:L

Dave I am going to check around in the short stories before I say for sure . It is the uniquenes of his style that got me . It is like he was there and he takes you there > Enthralled , you wander about a place you are never quite sure you will come home from .

The tiara is the only thing those accursed frogs respect. Damn their batrachian evil! Oh, and I forgot to mention, we also have a three-legged newt. We've named him Tripod. He's in the process of growing a new limb, or maybe a newt limb. Note the sinister submerged floaty frog in the background.

I see a content, obviously well-fed frog and a newt missing a leg.

Before I jump to any conclusions and falsely accuse the Floaty Frogs of any wrongdoing, how did the newt lose its leg?

Whats a newt ? Not much . Whats a newt with you .

Newts are neat . I love watch them stalking around in the water like mini T Rex .
You are giving me ideas my friend . No floaty frogs for me . I,m more of a woodland man . Newts on the other hand are a possibility .

Do you think they would get along with large goldfish ?
Maybe too well . L:O:L

Dave, the newt came that way from the Pet Store of Dr. Moreau, along with another very large, very reclusive newt. Haven't been able to get a pic of the big newt yet.

Kevin, I'd imagine they'd do fine, but you'd probably want to check with a pet store before mixing them. Newts do require dry land of some sort where they can get completely out of the water.

We've also got African dwarf frogs, but they're aquatic, and stay on the bottom most of the time. Eight African frogs, six floaty frogs, two newts, three black skirt tetras, a plecostomus, and a whole bunch of tiny snails.

Here's something you don't see every day. Big floaty has eaten so many souls, er, crickets, that its frog suit no longer fits, so it's shedding. Cthulhu frogs eat the old skin as soon as it comes off whereas African dwarf frogs leave it on the floor of the tank or else slung seductively over a leaf like some strange gossamer swimsuit.

The urge to once again derail this thread in the name of Dagon is tempting, but I'll resist just this once. We've revealed too many secrets as it is. It's not the Esoteric Order of Dagon for nothing.

I assume that the clawed toads breathe air. Do they require a landing site as well, or are they content to swim to the surface when they need a refill?

Dave, are you talking about the African frogs? They're fully aquatic, but I've seen them climb up on a piece of wood or a leaf on occasion. They don't breathe very well though when they're out of the water. They do this little panting thing that's kinda cute.

Just to say I had an African frog though I don,t think it was a dwarf .
The cute newt tore off part of the web on its back leg . These newts were small and the frog was more solid if not longer .
Newt one , froggy nothing .

The floaty frogs are doing well. All of them are fat and healthy, and now they've decided that any movement near the tank is an immediate threat, so if you walk past too quickly, they all dive and hide underwater for a few minutes. Of course, the clear glass of the tank renders this strategy particularly ineffective, but I haven't had the heart to tell the frogs. They look so smug when they're "hiding" in plain view.

The really good news is that Tripod is growing a new limb. He even has tiny newt fingers on the end of it. Big newt has gotten so fat that I had to rearrange some of the rocks to give him a bigger place to hide.
