Florist, Pruning and Grafting Knives

Some sweet prunage indeed !!! That Walden...omg !!!! I would enter the garden with either of those Ulsters too. The Schrades are the Kleidsdales of pruners
I like the Ulster's most, little more defined sway and the rounded handles feel more natural  Of my old knives I do actually use the pruners most because they are abundant and a bit more cost friendly ;) The Walden I do not use though, that one is precious :D

Well, Gev Gevonovich Gevonovich , and Charlie waynorth waynorth - you guys along with others in this thread have bullied me into seeking out a nice pruner. Certainly, a heck of a lot better that the two I posted earlier. Here is a Case Pruner with jigged wood (pakkawood) covers I ran across and it now resides with me.

Thanks for the push everyone. I'll have to get a couple/three more.

A literally incredible pair, Lyle! The checkered ivory is so, so special, love to see them!

This is just a breath-taking page in this enjoyable thread!! Makes my mid-morning coffee taste so much better!!
Ed's new Case! The old Ulster, Ken's outrageous FJs, John's slim B&Gs! Justin's oldies!
Herder's wonderful KK!!
We're in Hort Heaven!!:D

Nice one Ed.
Justin those two have good old pedigrees.
Herder, is that a Walden knife? Whatever, it’s a dandy.
Thanks everybody for the comments, I post in spurts.

Ed, just a great older specimen right there:thumbsup:

Justin, love those two. I can't make out the second one's stamp?

Lyle, Wow, Wow, Wow, Wow, Wow and WOW:eek::eek::eek:

Herder, I love that one and I find it really neat when the etch is still there:cool: sending a pm;)

Well, I am still moving some knives to the Cigar box; in fact I had to start another box, so now it's boxes. But I am almost at the end I think!
Here are a few later models, although the French Ivory SCC is pre-WWII.

The top knife is Italian, from Fox Cutlery, which is in Maniago I think.
Then the SCC with "sideways French Ivory!
Next a slim and very light Victorinox, a nice Stag Northfield from GEC, and finally a B&G Victorinox with a brass folding spud!
(Up top is a rough chunk of Baltic Amber polished on one side.)

Lyle Those Stag examples make me want to get to grips with them  The Lloyd singles are really interesting, seem like tree scalpels!

Herder, a finely preserved example with a sturdy butt plate, just right for banging down a few nails on the old fences :cool:

Thanks, waynorth, wlfryjr., Gevonovich, Paul H., and Will Power.
waynorth had mentioned that there was a time when pruner knives were mostly overlooked, which is true.
That was certainly the case for me early on as I wouldn't give one a second look, and now I do search them out.
