ave all...

this is in fact my very first post on bladeforums.....heard about the busse's 'infi' blades for a while but still have yet to own one... well, actually i did place an order for the 'team gemini lb' a couple of days ago... all in black [paper micarta] including a blk combat master sheath... i actually dig non-coated blades [satin, brushed, etc] for the practical aspect [better cutting performance, usage with fire steel, et alia] but through heavy lurking quite a bit on this forum [and the jerzeedevil's forum 'busse' section] lately, i've found out that satin blades are only 'le/cs' jobs only and regular 'cg' busse blades are always coated so it is what it is for now.... the tg does look sinister in all black though...
i'm still an ignoramus when it comes to busse anything thus i have a lot more lurking to do still hehe....

in fact, before i've delved heavily into reading many threads and stickies here most recently, i foolishly jumped the gun so to speak and wrote directly to busse customer service via their site a couple of weeks ago asking some really dumb, fng questions [even called their steel 'infini' instead of 'infi' which must rate as some kind of a blasphemy in the busse-fan canon i'm sure] - as i wanted to know if i can purchase a non-coated team gemini version, with full convex grind, et al... should've taken the time to read this subforum first and likely my e-mail to them was laughed out by the staff hehe...oh well, not the first time i've made a gaffe, nor not the last time most likely...
};->

i've checked out some threads here about the acronym/nomenclature of busse knives but still am quite confused hehe... i spent some time looking at the pricing/busse models of past and present...these are great primer threads and will likely visit them regularly for some time still...
yet i have a lot of questions... e.g.: what the hell are 'ganzaas' and how can one get in on buying a ganza edition blade? [damn, i hope i'm not asking another stupid question] ... whether one can order a busse factory professionally sharpened blade at extra cost to ensure one has the best edge put on it?.. [i've come across some complaints posted on-line re-busse blades arriving from the factory with less than ideal edge/point]...and a bunch of others which i couldn't find an answer to here thus far....

however, for now i'd like to ask whether it will take a very long time to get my tglb if i have placed an order only a couple of days ago??... will it be more than a month???... significantly longer if so??....i've noticed that new thread here where folks are writing about just getting ttheir c/cards charged for the tg lb which evidently they've placed a pre-order for, presumably quite some time ago.... and as i understand, the delayed order/shipping is s.o.p. when it comes to ordering a new busse model directly from factory...

lastly since this is my very first post i should explain a few things about myself i suppose... i'm actually no longer able to truly utilize a knife, without some heavily custom [read - expensive] mods ...that's because i broke my neck back in 1990, only a couple of years after my navy stint for uncle sam, so i'm a c6 level quadriplegic since i was barely 23 y/o... yet, i've always had a special place in my black little heart for blades especially [ i also dig guns, hot rods, old bikes, chicas, et al...in short i'm a typical dude who likes stuff that's either sexy, dangerous, loud, sharp, obnoxious, fast....or all of those things] ... also, probably unlike most on here, i've actually had to use a blade twice - early - in my life to stab another in self defense, both times before i even turned 18 y/o......and twice more had to draw one without actually using it, the latter 2 times it luckily had enough of a deterrent factor to make the other 'party' beat a hasty retreat... so i've been well acquainted with knives throughout my life and i still love a well made, badass knife despite no longer having the hand dexterity nor torso/body balance to utilize it properly... these days it's more of an admiration thing, or having one on me just in case it comes useful when someone else could make use of it.... plus, a good knife can always be an excellent barter item in circumstances that call for a reliable, simpple tool and when cash, credit card or even gold might suddenly become obsolete....
i do own a couple of very nice blades already- e.g. bark river's bravo 1 in 3v steel w/burl maple handle, a bark river finished wetterlings half-axe, and a day hiker 2 proto, plus i edc the ubiquitous tiny but mighty izula.... i also will soon likely purchase an rmd le by srkw [likely via the bladeforums buy/sell section] as i very much dig its proportions.... plus a few other cheaper but still solid, well made workhorse knives like the ka-bar heavy bowie, cs trail master, esee junglas, etc, simply because i dig the fact of owning quite a few utilitarian, badass blades hehe... but a busse infi blade has been haunting my dreams - asleep and awake - for a while now therefore i've decided to splurge and get at least one badass busse blade as my 'priority'.... it ain't easy to indulge in a hobby/passion for well made knives, living off meager disability as these tend to cost quite a bit but the satisfaction of knowing that one has a tool that will not break in dire circumstances - plus one that has that form-follows-function beauty - is an addiction of mine.... and besides, there is worse and more expensive stuff tto be addicted to, and i'm no stranger to that either in my past hehe....

i generally choose to lurk more than post but looking forward to stuff my head with more busse knowledge here.... salutations all around....

cheers - jerzy [that is in fact my real name and nothing to do with the cursed state i happen to reside in]....

[edit] - how does one add an avatar to the profile?... or a signature?... tried to find either option on 'edit profile' page but couldn't find neither....

The wait is around 8 weeks after you placed your order. They don't make the knife until you order it so they aren't just sitting around on shelves waiting to be shipped. Its a great knife and your going to love it.

Welcome to blade forum.

Ganza offerings are done on the forums. Jerry Busse (or designated affiliate) will post a thread about a new knife, throw in a yowza or two, and get us all hyped up for the new addition. Sometimes he will post another thread within a week or so, indicating the day the knife will be for sale, and other times (LBNMFSH) we will subsequently wait, rant, hear nothing else about the topic, and then make a new post in the thread roughly once each month, to complain about how we want/ed our Muk, LBNMFSH, LBSHBM, or IN-Folder. So to answer your question, when Jerry DOES post a follow-up thread with the sale date/time of the knife, that is the Ganza. He will post a "GO" thread at the given date/time and whatever knife is being sold, is dubbed the ganza offering for that particular occurrence. They go fast. Make sure your clicking finger is well-rested. If anyone has anything to add, or a modification to make, feel free to do so.

2 months then or so... damn it, i'll just have to be patient...not one of my stronger suits hehe.... thanks man...

Hi, welcome to the Forums and congratulations on the LBTG. Been waiting for some time myself now. You might find your wait shorter than 8 weeks as there is quite a lot activity in the Busse Family recently. With the Ganza offerings, basically SavageSmurf explained how it works, you wait for a GO post and then you scramble to put your order in. The only thing he missed is to say that there are a single knife offerings (like the Magnum Bear Cub a few weeks ago) or a large number of blades from across the 3 companies, very often with never seen before variants, unusual handle materials...

aha, so it's like..... an 'extravaganza' offering only for true busse fans here hehe...i wonder if that's what the word play is, shortened to ganza.... thanks for the info, very helpful to know at last what the busse ganza knives actually mean.... although i still don't get some finer points on participation.... why does one need a fast clicking finger??... does one have to click on some "first-come-first-get" link that's posted suddenly?... is it like some friggin' stock exchange buy/sell rush?... i'm assuming a price is given within the initial post from jerry busse/shop?.... and a photo or 2 of the new knife...or is it a little like buying lottery?... not knowing what one is actually going to get?... anyway, it's unlikely i'll be buying new busse knives anytime soon hehe... i'm certainly not the affluent kind... that rmd le yoou mentioned on my profile mssg though, any photos?...
thanks....

thanks for another welcome man... i'd love to get that kickass tglb asap so any week less than 8 will help.... ha!..damn confusing re-ganza but since i can't be making another $400+ buy anytime soon, i suppose i can always just ask later for more details on how does the ganza proccess actually work.... i might spend another couple of hundred on another blade like a nice rmd le in a month or so, but no more than that, and then i gotta chill out with spending hehe....

Ganzas are pretty simple, yet tricky. Someone, usually Jerry, will post the info before the Ganza happens. They'll post a time frame, say 9-10 PM, during which time Jerry will post a GO GO GO! Thread. As soon as the thread gets posted, you have to send your email in with your order. Here's where it can get tricky... If you send it in too early, you get put at the back of the line, too late and there may not be any blades left :O. Sometimes sneaky Hogs will post fake GO threads to try to trick the piglets. It's can be exciting, especially when you get your email in at the exact right moment.

I agree with you about Satin blades. Unfortunately, the TG LBS will not be released with a satin finish. I'm guessing it has something to do with the deep hollow grind.

Actually, you really should listen to him. First you want one blade. Then you say, "well maybe I could use those three LEs on the exchange" and then Busse releases about ten blades that you just have to have and before ya know it you are spending money on a bigger safe/trunk to store your blades in.

Don't forget about the Yard and the Swamp!

thanks.... hmmm, some dirty tactics come into play here then... likely just like some black outfits that likely use these blades so it's proper and all... i'd be one pissed off piglet though if i'd miss out on some coveted blade via such trick and be relegated to the back of the queue hehe...

i'll be watching for the next ganza then to see how it all goes down to be enlightened when the time comes that i'll actually have some funds to play.... at present my kickass kustom ['60 fairlane] needs a total rebuild after getting destroyed by a tourbus in nyc so i'm being especially frugal with any 'extravagant' spending....
thanks all for the welcomes....

gotta get off the puter for the next few hours but i've a feeling i'll be a frequent customer to visit this busse subforum...i do dig the rats and dogs as well btw...

one other question, how does one add an avatar/sig to one's profile here?...or is it that i see no such option due to insufficient number of posts here [i.e. newb status]?....

You don't even have to use a Busse to appreciate it, (though I do recommend some abuse) they are great just to hold and fondle.
I love to lay in bed while every body is asleep and caress a Busse, warm the scales with my hand, drag my thumb over the edge.
I find it very relaxing, it helps me doze off...

Welcome to the forum, you have a few weeks to wait on the TG, thats plenty of time to pick up a few more on the exchange.

You have to be a paying member to have an avatar or sig line.

would make for the most boring and useless test drive... can't really use a knife well myself anymore hehe....

When you get your knife, you can hold it in your teeth in your best pirate pose, and post a pic of that!

gotcha thanks...i was actually thinking of getting a paid -ship here anyway so will likely get one before the week's out....
hahaha, dude, that'd make for a pathetic pic man... wheelchair cripple pirate.... plus i no longer have most teeth thanks to some of those aforementioned harder, more expensive addictions some years ago....now, if i was an amputee... i could chop, baton split and whittle me a wooden stump and keep an 'edc' medium busse blade buried in it blade-first permanently as a very handy 'speed holster'....

actually i have a 'buccaneer/raider' type of a pic somewhere still taken back in my previous life in mid 80s, with a large muela bowie in my teeth and a companion muela skinner in my paw; bought the single sheath muela set on 8th ave/42nd street for something like $400 back when nyc was still nyc and hookers/xxx theaters ruled that place...thought i had the baddest ass blade in the world at tthe time hehe.... knife in teeth btw is just about the worst way to keep a blade 'ready' in any type of a raid/attack, even when a quick deployment sheath isn't available but i guess hollywood made it look badass.... i once tried to brandish a cheap bowie thusly while drunk one night and chasing a bear up some mountain in catskills pa, with a bunch of other drunk idiots, and nearly lost a couple of teeth [still had a full set hehe] and sliced my mouth into a permanent smile when i tripped and hit the dirt haha.... never tried that silly thing again....
