I think I can only get chinese crap with this budget but sometimes there are some hidden gems.

What it could be?

I would like something like this:

There is a "Dcbear" company that sells at good value: [link to non-BF dealer removed]

Or I found this: [link to non-BF dealer removed]

If you think I can not get anything worth to buy with this budget, which price point is optimal for a really tight budget.

Do no link to dealers who do not have BF Dealer Memberships.

Kershaw, CRKT, Shrade, in that order is what I would look at for your price range. No 15 dollar knife is going to be perfect, but buying one from a well known company is your best bet at getting a good one. Kershaw tends to build smaller, lighter knives, Shrade tends to make bigger over built knives, and CRKT makes a big mix.

Opinels of all sizes, as well as the svörd peasant/ mini peasant. All of those are available for that price point.

If you really can't go over $15, then there aren't many quality options. Increasing the budget $5-10 gets you many more options.

Good luck with your search :).

If you can swing $5 more and increase your budget to $20, you can get a Spyderco Byrd Meadowlark or Cara Cara. They don't look like the photos you posted, but they're solid, decent quality knives.

Kershaw Injection 3.0 or 3.5 (look for clam package version). Also Kershaw Thistle.

I'm not usually looking for knives in the $15 range, but the Injection has been on my list for a while now.

When I look at your pics and your budget, I think the Kershaw Scrambler, which at the right price would fit your budget. Its a Kershaw import that i've always liked. And its from 2014, so it will have bronze washers instead of teflon. But others have put in some good suggestions too

What stores are close to you? Anything like a Walmart, Cabelas, REI, Home Depot, etc... ? You might benefit from buying in store since you'd save on shipping.

This doable...

Knifecenter has the lowest shipping that I know of at $2.99 . You have a few options there.

My recommendation, save up a few more dollars. If you can get to $23, this is available. https://www.knifecenter.com/item/KA...Hunter-3-inch-Black-Plain-Blade-Foliage-Green

I see the Injection 3.0 for $12 and change right now. I doubt you'll find something better.

For a reliable cheap knife, I would like to suggest either the Sanrenmu 7010 LUC if you want smaller or the Enlan/Bee L05 if you want a bit bigger. Both are under $12. I have them both and I can recommend either without reservation for their price.

Go to Walmart to the sporting goods department. Find the holiday gift sets still on clearance. I got a CRKT Drifter XL and Viva multitool for $9 and it's worth 3 times that for sure.

A used Swiss Army Knife can be had on auction for 15 or less all day long, Rough Rider Trapper Lock, Sanrenmu, Opinel, etc. There are plenty of good knives for $15. In fact, WalMart's new $3.87 knife for 2016 with the wood handles uses a serviceable 420J2 steel that will easily take a sharp edge.

The main thing is avoid MTech, Frost Cutlery and its 300 subdivisions, and anything online that is unbranded. You will get a knife-shaped object that only looks like a knife but won't deliver actual value.

Avoid all Mtechs, United Cutlerys and Tac Force, etc. Stick to known, proven brands and models. My picks:

1. Used SAK of some sort
2. Opinel, CS Kudu, CS Eland, Mercator or Douk Douk for traditional designs
3. SRM 7010, Harnds NYX, and most lower priced SanRenMu, Enlan, HARDNS, OMUDA and Chinese branded folders are nice as well as the smallest and cheapest Kershaws
4. Around $12-15 you have most Ganzo, Navy k631, KaBar Mini-Dozier, great entry level Kershaws, some nice Byrd knives
5. If you raise it up to $20 you can find extraordinary pieces here, like the RATs and Avispa, some Buck, excellent Byrds like the Cara Cara 2 and fantastic Kershaws like the Chill, the OSO Sweet...there's the Ka-Bar Dozier too, an incredible value folder for the $

Thank you all so much guys! These will help me so much :)

Unfortunately I am not from US and sellers like Amazon does not ship to my country because importing knives are forbidden. This means that I need to buy somewhere like Aliexpress where local sellers have their own market :/

I have only 2 choice:

1. Buying from sites like aliexpress and being lucky.
2. Buying a Turkish knife. This should be better because $1 = 3.7 TL and Turkish knives are always hand made. But I do not trust their QC.

I can also increase budget up to $30 including shipping.

For choice 1, I found a site called knifeinformer and it says RAT Ontario 2 is best choice for this budget.
I looked to aliexpress and found a RAT Ontario 2 seller. I can not give link but company name is LDT Knives.

It is listed at $16.99. I thought that this could be fake and asked about it and here is response:

"Dear friend
Thanks your interest in our store
we sell the products as OEM ,It is real Ontario RAT Model 2 and our products have highly quality that you deserve to buy them
we are looking forward to make business with you
if you have any question you can contact us
have a nice day
kind regards"

Is seller making a word game by saying OEM?

What do you think if you compare it against the one I posted above which I am not certain if it is fake or not: LDT Ontario RAT 2 ?
I really do not want to buy anything fake.

I have only 2 choice:

1. Buying from sites like aliexpress and being lucky.
2. Buying a Turkish knife. This should be better because $1 = 3.7 TL and Turkish knives are always hand made. But I do not trust their QC.

Don't buy from counterfeiters. There has got to be options for legit knives like the RAT 2 or ontario Utilitac II. I'd go with those Turkish knives before I'd support the counterfeiters you are showing. :barf:

Sorry but that Rat 2 from DLT is definitely counterfeit. A member here got burned by them I think a few months ago. The one they got had garbage steel and was gritty and unfinished on the inside. Of all those get the Sanrenmu 7010. I like it so much I got 3 extras as gifts for the guys at work! You really won't find a new knife that compares to it at $7.
