At the under $15 price point, the only knives I honestly consider are Rough Rider traditionals. A slightly more expensive choice and one I like is the Kabar Dozier folding hunter at about $20.
I view knives in this price range as akin to buying an inexpensive flannel shirt at Walmart. It usually lasts a couple washings before it has shrunk to the point of not being usable for me. It becomes a rag then. So, I only buy them when I am working out of town and need a flannel shirt that I didn't pack.
