Folders

I have carried a Spyderco Endura and a Vic Classic for at least 16 years. I really like the new flat ground FRN handled ones. Sometimes I carry a Vic Tinker or Huntsman as well. When out hunting I always have a Gerber Gator Folding drop point with me. I think it is quite the "sleeper" as you don't hear much about it. It is a great deer field dressing knife. All of the old timers I grew up around in Ohio did everything with folders. Unless they were Mountain Man reinacting you never saw a fixed blade.

In the boonies I generally need a knife for food prep, fire prep, and game processing. I prefer a fixed, as cleaning a folder of meat pieces adequately is rough without running water and soap. A SAK is great to have along for all kinds of other stuff though.

My "whitecollar edc" at work is either an amber bone Case Peanut or a GEC buffalo horn Barlow #25.

For outdoors, I prefer a fixed blade (easier to keep clean) paired with a multitool (for versatility).

However, I have been using a beefy GEC Pioneer around the yard lately . . .

my Leatherman Wave neatly fills all my folding knife needs and desires.

i prefer fixed blades.
