Cutting card board, food prep sometimes, cutting rope. Opening boxes. Other random stuff lolWhat’s an “every day” for you?
We need some use case scenarios to make good suggestions.
Medium sized hand.. 2.75-3.4in would be good.More info would help. Big hand? Small hand? 3" blade? 4" blade?
Tons of choices.
Cold Steel Recon 1 or Ultimate Hunter. Solid lock, good materials for the price. Bonus - Cheesy marketing!
Spyderco Manix 2 or XL, Paramilitary 2 or 3. Many to choose from. Great Company.
+1 for Biginboca recommendation of a ZT 562. I love my ZT 350. Another good company that makes a great knife. Other choices as well.
Hogue. I've been looking at the EX02 spear point myself lately.
I was looking at this..Spyderco Gayle Bradley has been my edc for at least 10 years and I really like it for what I do in the shop, yard, and house.
How's the compression lock, easy to push?Spyderco Paramilitary 2 - If your local laws allow that blade length
Spyderco Chaparral - If your local laws require a sub 3-inch blade
But in that price range, there are tons of awesome choices

Spyderco PM2, Benchmade Bugout, massdrop Ferron forge gent, ZT0450 only to give a few but in this price range you can find a lot of options
Maybe you can be more specific on the size and use of the knife ?
Very easy to push. The compression lock knives from Spyderco are smooth as butter.[/Q

For your uses, you would want a capable slicer - something with a blade that not is not too thick and is ground for slicing. So a full flat ground blade would be good. And based on the blade length you mentioned, I think the aforementioned PM2 or Chaparral would be great choices. The PM2 blade is right around 3.4 inches, and the Chaparral is around 2.8-2.9. And both are full flat ground.
