I found this thread.

Are my eyes lying to me? Is that a Western 062 I see?

Here's mine. A "D" date code 062. Your bolsters and shield are a tad prettier. One of the former owners engraved our name on mine, long before I got it.

(I added the Western long after the referenced thread was created.)

Thank you. I’m not sure why it didn’t show up for me when I did a search,

Yes it’s a Western. I picked it up for $10 a few years ago. It was another one a guy I know found cleaning out a garage. When I took the photos yesterday I did notice one of the scales starting to separate from the frame so I’ll probably need to glue that soon. Mine is sheath less.

Couple of Schrade USA built Uncle Henry’s. I’m thinking that behind Buck Knife, Schrade USA was the second most prolific manufacturer of folding hunter style knives. OH

I had a Schrade Big Bear I bought when I was about 18. I kept it down in my workshop once we moved here. I honestly haven’t seen it in several years. Not sure what happened to it.

Situations like that have sent me on digging expeditions lasting days! I sure hope you find it. OH

One I keep my eye peeled for, an Imperial from their Double Eagle line - the 4815 BIG HORN (which was issued under their premium Frontier brand). I believe the Craftsman ACA lock-back shown above was this knife built for a Sears Craftsman contract. OH

You legally stole it. 😳

I got mine for about half the going rate for a Western 062 because of the "Steve" engraved on the bolster and shield.
(I consider that engraving a double bonus; made it affordable (to me) and it's not someone else's name, like "Clyde".)
Aside from the 5.5 days I carried a 4 pin 78 to 84 Old Timer 7OT (with a Schrade's marvelous 1095 blade), the Western has been on my belt.

Good luck finding an OEM sheath.
Even a generic flapped sheath will be tough to find. Most only go "up to" 5 inches ... A bit short for a 5.125 ~5.25 inch knife.
I don't have one, so I don't know if a open top slant/crossdraw 110/6/7OT or UH LB7/8 lockback will fit.

It pretty much sits on display for now.

How do you even approach Buck Knives on a thread like this? Going to start with the easy one, a Buck 317, made on contract by Camillus - the only friction type folding hunter with the Buck name that I can think of. Mine is the plain and standard version, their were variations but all were 317's. OH

Buck defined the lock-back Folding Hunter genre with the introduction in 1964 of their famous Buck 110 Folding Hunter - a frame style so famous that it spawned many copies, some of terrific quality, some of terrible quality - but all referred to by many folks as a "Buck Knife". A selection of mine built from 1968 to 1988. OH

hey folks does anyone know when case stopped making their awesome folding hunter lockbacks?

There was one (new) still for sale in a display about 20 min north of me that I may have to go see if it's still there. It's been eating at me ever since I had seen it. Months ago now maybe longer. It has to be years old at this point. Right?

Anyways....

Here is a Queen made Robeson (mountain man?)
