Folding hunters

hey folks does anyone know when case stopped making their awesome folding hunter lockbacks?

There was one (new) still for sale in a display about 20 min north of me that I may have to go see if it's still there. It's been eating at me ever since I had seen it. Months ago now maybe longer. It has to be years old at this point. Right?

Anyways....

Here is a Queen made Robeson (mountain man?)

To be honest I just realized earlier today that they stop. Another post got me looking and I realized there was no Sharktooth, Hammerhead, or Mako. It really surprised me. I think the X changer is still around. I think that’s what it was called.

Schrade Wostenholm that is actually a Camillus pattern

The top one do you know if they ever made that with a real slender blade. I had a knife when I was about 12 or 13 ( mid 80’s) that had a frame very similar to that but the blade was different. I loved that knife but don’t remember the brand and have never seen another one.

I don't know. The pattern is from Camillus. They used it for a few models. One was brass with wood covers (my favorite) one was brass with jigged delrin and advertising or nature themed medallions (OH posted one above) and then there were others specially made for companies like Crosman, which I'm still hunting for😁. The crosman is nickel with black covers.

There are also barehead versions with faux stag. One is a slipjoint and one "camlok" black mamba posted one earlier in the thread

The blades are all similar but the advertising one I have (which looks like OH "American wildlife" has a thinner fully flat ground blade. Maybe you had one of these knives with the full flat grind. It's noticably thinner than the sabre grind.

Here is a comparison between the #4 and #11.

Thank you. Maybe I will start searching Camillus a bit and see if what I’m looking for pops up.

Well thank you guys. After a quick search it actually is a Camillus Sword Brand #3 that I had. I just seen a few pictures of one that sold on another site.

I honestly didn’t remember having a Camillus but then again as a kid I pretty much was into Buck, Schrade and cheap imports from the flea market. Honestly I probably picked it up from the flea market. But thank you for solving something that has puzzled me for some time.👍

The number three is like the perfect pocket lockback! I love it.

There were two blade styles I've seen. The clip like the bigger #4, which is what I've got, and a sleeker looking blade with a lower profile, which may be what you mean.

Regardless, you can't go wrong!

Yes that’s exactly what I meant. A lower profile blade. 👍

A few of the many variations of lightweight lock-backs based on the 110 by Buck Knives. OH

In the 70's everyone in my world wore a folding hunter or a Sharpfinger. Mine was an LB-7 and I wore it for many, many years, used it for everything from a can opener to a pry bar. I didn't retire it until I discovered multi-tools in the mid 90's. I bought a new Buck 110 the other day, just in case...
