This thread and all the other "Lateral Strength" threads have me feeling like a rubbernecker. You know passing the horrible accident, you're gonna see something disgusting, you will learn nothing, by slowing down and looking you're feeding into more of the chaos, but for some reason, you can't stop looking.
jac_solar,
What current production folding knife has hardened steel or Ti 6Al-4V(HT) liners and stainless or Ti 6Al-4V bolsters ?
No. His does not have liners. It has a liner. Just one.

Those I mentioned are just a very very few who use grade 5 titanium as you could see from a simple web search. Its one of the more common materials used in folders, next to steel. Thats certainly not grounds for epic big type
That's right I forgot sigh ! Doesn't the dohicky make up for the lack of 2 liners?![]()
But epic big type is a good way to draw attention to what you're selling even if it is not worthy of said typeface.
Yes. Apparently a small doohickey held in contact with a small part of the blade by a spring provides more lateral strength than a full metal liner permanently against the blade.
You know it's funny, if looked at out of context, it sounds like we're a bunch of school bullies here.
This is my new knife design. What do you think? Comments welcome.
Take a look at this ! Strongest folding knife. Uses an over-center type lock. It makes a fixed blade knife when locked open
