Dpx and Lion steel, spyderco, Chris Reeve, Emerson, Boker, Hinderer, Strider and a host of custom makers use Grade5 Titanium bolster, liners and sides.

Also... Something Something Something... Dark Side.

Something Something Something... Complete.

This thread and all the other "Lateral Strength" threads have me feeling like a rubbernecker. You know passing the horrible accident, you're gonna see something disgusting, you will learn nothing, by slowing down and looking you're feeding into more of the chaos, but for some reason, you can't stop looking.

These threads are our version of reality TV... it sorta kinda maybe a little bit looks almost real but when you dig deeper, you find out it's all a bunch of CGI computer simulations.

Those I mentioned are just a very very few who use grade 5 titanium as you could see from a simple web search. Its one of the more common materials used in folders, next to steel. Thats certainly not grounds for epic big type

But epic big type is a good way to draw attention to what you're selling even if it is not worthy of said typeface.

That's right I forgot sigh ! Doesn't the dohicky make up for the lack of 2 liners?

Yes. Apparently a small doohickey held in contact with a small part of the blade by a spring provides more lateral strength than a full metal liner permanently against the blade.

Yeah I guess so, just seemed like he was really emphatically making a point. It didn't make any sense but it was a point.

Wow that's groundbreaking !

You know it's funny, if looked at out of context, it sounds like we're a bunch of school bullies here.

But that isn't really the case. We're just knife enthusiasts who want to see actual, real-world test results that a particular knife can do what its maker claims. And over the past month-ish we haven't been getting that no matter how much we'd like.

I realize it takes time. I realize it takes money. But it is perhaps more prudent to wait til one can perform these tests (if the intention is there at all) so we can see if it lives up or not. Don't go on and on about hype. Create a little maybe, but follow it fairly quickly with what lives up to that hype.

You know, I bet none of this would have happened if our friend's first post was

This is my new knife design. What do you think? Comments welcome.

Take a look at this ! Strongest folding knife. Uses an over-center type lock. It makes a fixed blade knife when locked open

One gets the level of respect out of this place that they put in, you know?

Fail. This thread provides no value for the original topic, and has descended into poor comedy subsequently.
