Folksy?

Blues,

You ought to see her roll up some Bull Durham. And she can open a beer bottle with her one little molar.

Music for you fellow mellow forumites.

You can choose to be insulted-that is your choice.

It was a classic comparison and contrast statement.

IF you compare Customs to Traditional, the regulars are different.

Things go down fast over there, discussions get very heated, epithets are hurled, and money does matter.

Over here, its' a bit slower, the regulars are WAY more welcoming, and tolerant of newbie gaffes.

The pace of discussion is relaxed, and tempers don't seem to flare all that much.

An insult it was not meant as, and thanks SHS, Shaldag and Bastid for taking up for me. Your bonhomie through the years has been a source of pride and comfort.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Dayym STeven here I was going through this thread laughing me arse off and you go and post and gave it the ultimate buzz kill.. :D

I saw your folksy comment back over at GB&U and laughed out loud over there as well. You were accurate about this place with your comment to an extent. It is part of what makes this place so cool and why I hang out here more than I do in other parts of BF. And this thread is a perfect example of how certain things are laughed off in here. I go elsewhere at BF to lurk and post, but this here is home for me because after fighting with subcontractors and suppliers all folk'n day long, this is where I come to unwind several nights a week with the crew.

Personally, I am glad you made the comment for two reasons. First, it came off so matter of factly and it was clear that when one read it, coming from you and knowing your good rep, that there was no malice intended. You were just speaking your mind and even compared the difference between the two(Custom & Traditional) forums. Second, your comment sparked this thread and I got to LOL for several minutes before I go off to work this morning.

Best,
Anthony

I just re-read this thread and lmao AGAIN! I don't see where anyone was upset. It all looks lighthearted to me. Thanks!:D

Doctor, i've been trading my small city center row house for a single-family one with a garden in suburbia, my tactical knives for slipjoint folders, my deep frozen meals for my own home grown veggies, my Gardena stuff for grandpa's carbon steel tools and my MP3 & CD player for a three speed turntable... Do you think i'm getting folksy?

There is peace in the valley and everyone is free to be just as folked up as they wanna be...And now back to our regular programming... ;) :D

A musical interlude for Zeppos and Blues:

GOING UP TO THE COUNTRY, PAINT MY MAILBOX BLUE
Taj Mahal

Gonna move up to the country
Paint my mailbox blue
Gonna Move up to the country
Paint my mailbox blue
Put some flowers on it baby
Paint some trailin' vines and dew

You know I'm leavin' LA baby
Don't you know this smog's got me down
I'm leavin' LA baby
Don't you know this smog has got me down
I'm goin' up to the country
Where there ain't no doggone smog around

Well, come here baby
Sugar, let your papa take you by the hand
Well, come here baby
Sugar, let your papa take you by the hand
Well, you be my woman
And I'll be your city-boy, country man.

I'm gonna move up to the country
Gonna paint, gonna paint, gonna paint, my mailbox blue
Move up to the country
Gonna paint my mailbox blue
Put some flowers on it honey
Paint some trailin' vines and dew

(I almost always read STeven's posts in customs; very knowledgeable guy)

Darn, Mike, I like Taj Mahal but I thought I was gonna get a little "Canned Heat".

You're okay for a guy from Colorado! ;)

Another version. I'm with this guy. Money don't mean much.

This can't be a mere coincidence: Ten minutes ago i told my father in law (he's old enough to have seen the Germans being chased out of his parents' farm by you guys and our other allies, and pretty folksy by nature ;)) that i have a cold. He showed me how to make an old school medicine (Hot water + honey + cane sugar + scotch) to help me cure it...
Cheers

Looks like a fella that just got himself a Bose knife or two!!! (From a dealer!)

That could be a Bose in the lower left corner.
Greg

Blues,

That feller in Greg's picture still has his clothes on. Some of us weren't so lucky after buying Bose knives from dealers. But it's almost summer!
