so I finished 5 knives that I think are a big jump in progress from where I was, Thanks to Mike Vagnino for some grinding guidance.
One is a Bob Dozier Guides knife pattern copy. The other 2 are Carter Cutlery knife style interpretations. The last 2 are also copies of the same hunter style, sadly I forgot where I got the design from. The spine line arc on the top of the Carters style are a bit too straight and the pins location aren't the best. These patterns were cut and HT 2 months ago before I knew better.
My goal was to improve my bevels and have better tips, better plunges and continue to work on handle finishes. These aren't perfect but are a step up from where I was. I also learned basic kydex making, also another opportunity to learn something. I also continnued to figure out what sort of blade finish works for me and these are hand sanded.
handles are in cocobolo, with linseed oil.
edge sharpened by hand on 1000 japanese waterstone, stropped on leather with Tormek compound
thanks for looking
oops, have to deburr the plastic out of the holes
kydex "press"
