A couple of weeks ago, I browned 4 pounds of ground turkey. Then my wife added various other ingredients (diced tomatoes, black beans, onions, packets of taco seasoning) to transform it into something we could freeze and take on vacation with us for eventual use in tacos, enchiladas, etc. Here's a photo of the meat and additions (including potato chunks to soak up salt) before freezing:

There was more "meat mix" than would fit in the storage container we intended to freeze, so I got to use some of the leftover meat to make a "vegetable enchilada casserole" I invented:

Thanks, Jack.Looks tasty Gary![]()
I had some Middle Eastern food yesterday. Lentil soup (addas) to start with, then olives (zaytoun), muhamarra, hummus, falafel, and baba ganoush, with plenty of good Arabic bread, and cardamom and mint tea

What is that?
That looks tasty GaryHere's a photo of a beef pasty my wife bought me at a local fish market; I decided eating half for one meal and saving the other half for another day was a case of "discretion is the better part of valor."

Here's a close-up of the half of the pasty I ate first. It show that this pasty has plenty of potato and beef, but has only traces of other root vegetables (onions, carrots, rutabaga, beets, turnips) traditionally featured in a pasty.
