A really good idea in my book.
One thing, though.
I feel that you should make it so a person can start a thread with permission.
That would provide more topics than you alone could find and would keep the detritus and rehash to a minimum.

You Bet! This would give us Forumites a good idea of what the "regular Joe's" exposure to the knife world is like, and better help us fanatics to understand the point of view of our blade-fearing brethren.
