Beautiful little knife. Love the handle.

Being a huge lockback/mid-lock/tail lock fan, this is one of my favorite threads.

New to me…after years of searching for the “right” one (they are all super nice), I snagged this Frank Centofante 3 3/8” ATS-34 beauty. Beautiful engraving by Sanchez dated 1990, and amazing dovetailed freshwater MOP handles.

Whoever’s collection this came out of…I thank you. I have been a fan of Mr. Lake’s Tail Lock, and Mr. Centofante’s (RIP) Side Lock for a long, long time. A dream come true.

Made this one some time back. It was in my own collection for a while, but has since been past on.

Beautiful Mr. L. I always look at your daughter’s and your knives. Got lucky enough to handle one of Elizabeth’s at Bladeshow 2019 from someone’s private collection.
You both do some exquisite work.
One day I may own an example. :) Glad to see you posting here.

Certainly one of Franks more elaborate pieces. A wonderful example for anyones collection. I still miss Frank. I always had my table beside his at the East Coast Custom Knife show. Spent many hours chatting with him. He was kind and giving of his time and knowledge.

Yesterday I was carrying this contemporary Chinese made Old Timer 3 OT. Frankly, it's quite a surprising compact knife, while it certainly doesn't have the charisma or pedigree of an original American made Schrade, it is very well assembled, sharp and useful. Had it for some years but never carried it much, don't care for the colour of the Delrin but I have to say that the originals cost a lot to buy here in Europe and I'm not sure they'd be as well put together.

Handy little carry, have a Buffalo Horn handled version too and that's very decent but it's developed a crack in the handle, denoting low quality horn- but you can find low grade horn on plenty of American & English knives too and costing a good deal more.
