Photos For the love of Lockbacks! (Traditionals only)

I've been carrying my Schrade (USA) LB5 a bit lately. Larger than a Buck 501 and smaller than a Buck 112. Very convenient and useful size.

Somehow I didn't realize that these were a lockback.
I'm still off put by the " axe handle " shape being backwards, but I do really like the clip blade profile on these.
Yup -- it's definitely a bit of a "stealth" lockback. I'm with you -- I've always loved the profile on Bill Ruple's clip blades, and this one is very nice. 👍

Exactly but a huge price difference
I don't see why they'd feel the need to change the blade shape though.
I don't recognize the blade from any other Case model, and it's swedge looks like it would take a bit more skill to execute, so why not just stick with the better looking Ruple blade ?

If they sell well and most people like the knife as offered then that would vindicate Case's choices on this I guess.

“…why not just stick with the better looking Ruple blade?” When Case started the collaborations with Tony they promised collectors that the design would not be repeated in a normal production model. This was done to ensure “exclusivity” of Tony’s knife run. They kept that promise. Maybe that is still true for the Ruples.

That makes sense.
