Highly considering the Explorer. If it had the Saw as well, I would jump all over it. IF the Huntsman had the inline phillips, I would grab that lol.

FWIW, if you really need a pocket saw, just bring a wire one.

The saw on any SAK is so small that it can only "saw" twigs that you could break w/your hands/feet anyway.

And, if you need kindling, you can use one of the blades to scrape off some wood to start any fire w/the magnifying glass or w/a fire starter or w/a match.

LOL! ;)

Can't vote since I can never keep the hundreds of models they make apart. Got half a dozen, but don't ask me what the names are... 🤷‍♂️

Depending on circumstances, the one with the saw is good, or the scissors, or the small pliers, or the magnifying glass; the corkscrew a few times a week. No real man needs a cap lifter. The can opener is great for cutting the foil/capsule on the bottle though (saves the small blade for real cutting). Don't eat canned food anyway.

Stretchers, walking sticks and structures. Where you need a wrist size bit of wood, relatively cleanly cut. In at least a reasonable time.

Spears, digging stick, all that kind of thing.

FWIW, a wire saw can cut an even thicker branch just as clean and quicker.

But, if you want the extra wt of a saw on your SAK, so be it. 🤷‍♂️

The most useful tool is the one you have with you, which means I would go with the Alox Electrician, unless I happened to be in the woods, in which case the Alox Farmer. Either one, combined with my prodigious outdoors and hand-to-hand combat skills, would enable me to fight or forage my way to whatever tools, weapons or foodstuffs I might require.

Alox farmer for me as well. Sitting on my desk in front of me right now, in fact. Though for the stated scenario, it makes little difference. Having a pocket knife is not going to affect my survival chances in an apocalyptic situation like the OP describes.

While the poll is now closed, I would have voted for the Champ. I've got one in my rig's glovebox inside a sheath that also holds a small flashlight with a spare lithium cell, firesteel, sparker, and tinder. I've also got a Wave, a couple fixed blade knives, a small axe, shovel and a variety of gear from my SAR days. As long as I've got my rig, I'm GTG. If not, I'm, er, hosed.

I’d say the Workchamp - all the tools in a bigger, more robust form. The knife blade is longer and a bit thicker, the saw and file are longer. It has the smaller size Phillips driver which I often reach for. Not ideal for daily carry but it a shtf situation it would work better for me than the others. Only thing I wish it had is a small blade, I’ve grown used to it from the 91 and 84 series.
