Doesn't anybody recognise the quote?
From the play/movie "A Man for All Seasons"? About the dispute between Sir Thomas Moore, Archbishop of Canterbury, and King Henry the VIIIth when Moore would not grant King Henry a divorce?
King Henry remarked in frustration "Will no one rid me of this troublesome priest?" and someone took that as a royal request and assasinated Moore.
My comment above on "Will no one rid me of this troublesome thread?" was a joke/takeoff on King Henry's line.
To make it funnier, look at the Topic Subject (For the sake of their souls). There is a contemporary spiritual author named Thomas Moore. One of his books was titled "The Care of the Soul" ISBN 0-06-092224=9.

FYI, the History Channel ran a show last night on Voodoo & related religions. A Santeria priest was being interviewed and he said, in effect, that they do not make pretensions about being the "only way". He explained that they respect all religions and simply ask that others do the same.
