Some people criticize those who edit out the price, but I just want to celebrate those who don't.

I don’t leave it because it’s nunya biz. Also, it just leads to people saying “but so and so sold this same knife for (insert price here)”… like it’s some sort of legal precedent for knife price law.

I'm familiar with many reasons to remove it, I'm just expressing my appreciation for those who keep it for posterity.

But since you sold the knife leaving the price does not impact you at all.

It’s between a buyer and seller if they choose to keep the final sale price private. I’m not here to be the cited source for someone’s lowball offers.
It’s not a low ball offer if you sold yours for that price. Leaving the price helps sellers and buyers alike. For example sellers know what to price a knife to move it quickly.

Yes it is a “lowball offer”.. if I sell a knife I bought for $200 on the exchange for $75 because, let’s say I needed cash right away and didn’t care about taking the loss.. why should someone go to some seller listing theirs for $160 and say “Paratrooper just sold this for $75. I’ll offer $75”?

It would happen and you know it.

I could care less that someone else sold their knife for cheaper. If someone told me paratrooper sold his for less, I would tell him he should have bought paratroopers.

So what. Doesn’t mean you have to take the lowball offer. As a seller you’re free to charge whatever you want.

There’s always good deals that pop up here and there. Doesn’t mean that automatically sets the price for every example following that one that’s ever sold until the end of time - just means one guy got a one-off good deal.

I already explained the issue, and I’m still not going to list what I ultimately sell things for. I could ask you “so what” when it comes to you folks that demand to see final sale prices.

I don't think you need my permission, but if you want the validation, sure don't leave your price.
Not asking for your “validation”, just trying to figure out if you’re responding to me because you do or don’t care about listing the final sale price. If you don’t care about either, I guess I’d ask “what’s your point?”

My point was, if you remove your price because you are doing a favor for other sellers, don't bother.

I clearly stated in my first response that I’m doing it because it’s only the business of me and the buyer. We don’t need to keep doing this. You can post your sale prices, and I won’t. Freedom of choice.

You clearly stated you do it for two reasons, one of which being so other sellers don't use your price to make low-ball offers. And I didn't reply to your first response.

Yes, people do make lowball offers and reference eBay listings or wherever else they find low pricing. It happens. If it doesn’t annoy you, fantastic. How long you want to keep engaging in this little argument? Feel like you’re winning?

I don't see this as a competition, so there isn't a winner. People can have different opinions. Both people can offer their opinion, right?

I only answered questions you asked, in my subsequent posts.
