For those that own a Canadian?

I've like using them over the last few years, I really like the #4 out of the entire line, but the #3 is the runner up for me, Though all of the knives a fine workers, and will last a life time. I have a Large skinner that I got from my Grandfathers from when he was younger, its a great knife, very keen edge on it.

The Three places I dont mind buying from:D

I wouldn't own a Canadian. They are lazy and whenever you give them a command thay're all like "eh?" as if they don't hear you, but they do.;)

Mentor has the forming process correct. I don't think it needs to be that wet though. Warm water where you simply rub some water into the surface was fine for my Sharpshooter sheath.

I used Kiwi Neutral polish to finish it.

I bought a Grohman Canadian years ago, the stainless steel version. It absolutely would not hold an edge. I now use it for digging weeds out of the garden - works well for that.

If you want a Canadian that holds an edge, get the Bark River version, or some other version where the maker uses a decent heat treatment. I cannot recommend the Grohman.

Nor me. Could be you got a lemon, Grampa.

And for the record, as a free people, we Canadians cannot be 'owned'. We can, however, be rented for brief periods, provided there is quality microbrew involved.

All the best,

- Mike
