For those who own both RC5 & RC6 !

Saweet :thumbup: Lookin good bro

Now, I need to order another RC 5 and RC 6.

How to justify this one... hmm ..
 
The RC5 Scale really work well with the RC6 and canvas micarta offers less slip factor over the linen scales and since I use the RC6 more I had a funny idea to swap'em ..works great....3/32nds allen heads(I think?) ; hardware was pretty tight...that red thread lock is some mean stuff....I am going to home depot this weekend and pick up some to thread lock my hardware.:D

I wouldn't bother Tony, just put a little grease or Vaseline on the threads and snug them down. That way periodic maintenance is easy. They're not going anywhere, even on a big chopper.
I've been doing that for some time and NEVER found one loose or gone. Just a suggestion.:)

Wow, thanks for the info! :thumbup::thumbup: I was getting ready to use some thread lock on a metal spring clip I've got attached to my Izula. This way I don't have to worry about busting it loose if I feel the need to change the setup.
 
Tony, what is the little blade you keep with your RAT fire kit? I saw it once before, but now I can't find the other thread...

Tony., any chance your friend would be willing to make a few more of those kydex firesteel/SAK setups for the RC-6 sheath? I'd love to buy one for my RC-6 and I'd bet I'm not the only one.
 
Tony that SAK/F-Steel rig is so freaking cool it could give frost bite.

Can you give some details on how your friend makes these? I've been struggling to find that very setup out in the world of purchase and have come up empty handed. I'm sure doing a nice job is an art all in itself, but the basics of making one of these has got to be do-able.

Also look at the Buck Smidgen. Same size knife in 420HC. Lot cheaper too. Plus comes with a better sheath and a small carabiner which will help attach it to the Fire kit.
 
Actually the Hartsook now has the exact same sheath as the Smidgen. They fixed it at the same time they came up with the Smidgen.

I will get you some pics of contents sometime,I dont feel to good so my mind is not to clear...:D all these pills/Meds ...off the top of my head...
I know it has a small fishing kit,heat sheet,maxpedition od green flashlight,Bic lighter,whistle,quick tinder tabs,RAT fire kit,micro pur tabs, matches,magnesium firesteel(that came with the Izula)SAK OHTPE & LM wave and some otheritems I can not remember right now...:)

Mike Billman mbhanzo on ebay him and I talk weekly and you may need to copy my pic to refresh his memory he build me alot of items.....He called it the necker set up but it fit perfectly on the RC6 sheath..He runs a knife store so he may have a RC6 inhouse to model after.:D I will email him today with picture and see what is up....:thumbup:

Isn't Mike Billman that guy who also makes those excellent Fallkniven F1 kydex set-ups? I tried emailing him a while ago and got no response, maybe I'll give it a try again :thumbup:
 
I posted his email addy..yes he is ...he makes sheathes for every make /model.... No Response ? maybe because I have been BS with him all day... LOL !
