For those with Bryan Breedon Knives

I may just be the first one to review Breeden Knives way back at the beginning.

Bryan is not just a knife maker, he is an outdoorsman. Many conversations we have had about the woods, the mindset of a survivor, and sharp pointy things. I call him a friend!

I told Bryan before that I get a chance to use many knives from different makers, but when I come back from a long trip my Breeden’s feel like home.

The one thing I hate about Breeden Knives is waiting for them to show up at the mailbox!

What is your idea of the perfect knife?
Bryan asked me that very question. The result…..!

Bryan is sure getting some great air-time here from his satisfied customers. I've got 2 on order and can't wait til I'm one of them.:p

Go Bryan!!

Bryan - what are the specs on the PSKK knife?

Hi all,

Thanks for the pics and comments Reuben.

You wrote what you hate about Breeden knives is the waiting for them to show up lol Yea I agree I hate the wait time too. I wish I could get knives out faster, But then they would not be a Breeden hand made knfie they would be Breeden and helper lol.

I do not want to do that. I want to be involved in making all of the knife once I get the steel.

Utah fish, As to the specs it is really what you want and decide. That is what custom is all about. trying to get it your way, not mine or what some one else wants. so the specs are up to you with in reason lol.

Chat with you all later,

Bryan

Camoninja, this week is a no go I am in meetings all this week. Anytime next week would be good. I have my cell on me most of the time.

Ok no problem. Ignore my voicemail then. Now back to looking and dreaming about your kickass knives.

sweet-3 inches by 1 inch?

Try:3 3/4 x 1 1/4"
It is wide to cross grain deep into green wood. My regular one has a thickness of 3/32". The strength of a knife isn't just the thickness of the spine, but the width of a blade too.

Hey, but what do I know? It cuts good!

Well, I agree-I do prefer wide blades as well. Lots of reasons in addition to strength-For controlled, two handed carving, a wide blade gives you more leverage when pushing with a second thumb, prying on the meat between your thumb and forefinger, etc. Wider blade gives you more room for a good belly, and I think the extra weight helps a bit with precision/control. Nice design. I think I might have one done in 5 inches.

I'm with you guys as well!!! I can hardly wait to get my knife from Bryan!!!

Try something in the 6 1/4" range @ ~ 1 7/8" wide (at ricasso) and 1/4" at spine!!!!
Belly? yup, got it!
Width/leverage for cross-grain cutting (baton/etc)? yup, got it!
Extra weight? ABSOLUTELY!!!
Sharp for slicing? Come on, it's a Breeden RAZOR of course!

I have a 2.25 inch wide 3/16ths blade at 6 inches long from Dylan Fletcher-the Hatchula II. I wanted a slightly stretched out Hatchula and he decided to make an entirely new model. It's a beast of a blade for sure. The RAZOR is a heck of a blade though!

That sure sounds like an awesome blade bro!

Would you please give pics?

Is it a pretty stout blade? How's it perform - slice? carve? wedge/split/baton?

Maybe start another thread
