I use my knife the most for opening packages........that contain other knives. Go figure.

For cutting up pieces of paper to test how sharp it is after sharpening. :o

Opening boxes as well. For that reason my EDC is one of these.
The one on the bottom is my EDC, the one on top is my spare when I thought I'd lost my EDC only to find it again.

To stave off boredom.
Next would be to calm my ocd, adhd, and anxiety down.

Would be close between opening packages, and cutting up apples to snack on at work for most of my folders.

Feathersticks, or tent pegs for my fixed blades, and cutting veggies with my kitchen knives :p.

Being a security blanket?

I had a day surgery today, and felt uncomfortable in nothing but a hospital gown and boxers. I told my wife that I'd rather be naked with a knife around my neck than dressed like that without tools. Mind you, I'm not talking about it being a weapon—I've never used my knife like that and don't select knives with that criterion in mind at all. (Okay, maybe it's on the list somewhere, but near the bottom.) I'm talking about being prepared, with a knife being the single most important tool you can have on you.

I'm opening packages all day at work. Monday and Thursday, I can't even count how many times it gets pulled out of my pocket.

Delivery days are fun, and it's a great way to make the public more aware that knives are tools. My ZT 0200 has been a near daily user on those days.

Kitchen work, if we include culinary knives. Then opening boxes, cutting tape and baling twine, opening envelopes...this time of year I spend a lot of time butchering meat rabbits.

I'm a landscaper so pruning flowers and rose bushes. Slicing open large plastic containers bushes come on.

Mostly for stripping large power cables for termination.
I do some of that too, 500mcm and down.
Sometimes 15kv multi conductor armored and shielded cable, also 5kv stuff... all the way down to lowly 14/3 SO cord.
Also alot of scraping corrosion off old conductors and connectors - and cutting through plastic/rubber/cambric tapes and into steel nuts & bolts to disconnect motors.

Then there's processing small game (deer, squirrel & fish, cut fruits, sandwiches, light kitchen duties... tomatoes, onions jalopenas, ect.

It's hard to say what my knife does most of.

I repair wheelchairs, somehow the manufactures have decided they should put every single part in a separate sealed plastic bag. So plastic and cardboard day in and out for me.

I use mine for backyard bushcraft, breaking down boxes and recyclables, and my favourite slicing and chopping barbecue. Deer hunting season is right around the corner though, can't wait.
