The more I look at pictures of it I'm thinking I could baton the front part of the stine as it looks very think. If I had to.

The satin shows the blade shape a little better:

You have about 1.25" forward of the band breaker that could be used as a baton point. There are almost 1.5" between the BB and the handle. Both of these points are full stock thickness, or 0.220" on my blade. No chance of pranging it.

rbmcmjr: great pics. Thanks for the info. I am still trying to find out if it is CA legal. Is the band breaker make it a double edged knife?

Are those SF handles similar to that of the SFNO?

Yup...same slabs as the SFNO's...

Here's two Force One's that I have... one with a special tip grind....

The tips are super beefy, dunno if the band breaker is considered a double edge or not... its fairly sharp but not as sharp as the cutting edge.

Hope that helps!!:)

No, PhotoMaster, that doesn't help with the budget one little bit... :D

Beautiful photos, PM Sent! :D

O.K. Now i gotta ask. Since these seem to be "fighters" has anyone given theirs a hard workout? Just curious.

I had one, but ultimately sold it. When I first got it, I liked it alot, but then found others calling my name that likely would be more practical and see more use. That is why I eventually got rid of mine. I personally did not find the americanized tanto to be very utilitarian, so in a world of limited resources, I finally sold it.

Breaking anything on it is highly unlikely. The tip is massive. As you mentioned above, I think the knife was meant as a fighter. I will say this--while it does not have the greatest reach, when you hold it, the average response you can expect is "Oh my ******* God!" It is a scary looking blade. And as I recall, weight and balance was nice.

Good luck.

I'll bet you regret getting rid of a certain military overrun :D

Naaaaa, I like sharing the wealth. In all my trades and purchases, I've only had one potential regret, and I am not sure that it rises to even that level. And in the case of the blade you are referring to, at least I know the guy who got that knife is enjoying the H*** out of it!

According to local law enforcement, officers disgression. :( It could be a double edge, or since the top edge stops before the tip, its not. Depends on who you find here. Same applies with "grey area" knife laws such as swedged knives, balisongs (contrary to popular belief, they are not specificaly named as illegal) and blade length, is it measured to the handle or is it simply cutting edge.

Also, there seems to be two different F1's out there. One type with the front edge ground way back through the coating and an abrupt corner where the tip translates into the belly. The other isnt ground at the point, the coating is still intact, as in the pic that Dave posted, and the transition between the tip and belly is more rounded. Wonder what the story is on those? Seems to be a lot more of the sharp transition, tip ground knives out there.

Good to know LM. Thanks. I have also asked one of our own who is an LEO in my area and its along the same lines as you said. I'll have to wait and see one the knife arrives. In the worse case scenario I'll have to trade/sell it to get something more clearly within the local laws. But it will look so good next to my AK. :D

:D Thanks again Chris! It's still one of my three favorites! I'll never break that set

hey, I just noticed that the butt of the force 1 looks like a little man in the boat.

Come to Canada. There are no laws here about blade length or double-edges. You could carry your AK.
