Force One

 What kind of boat?

And why three talon holes instead of the usual 2?

2 because its similar to the larger fusion handled knives in that regard. allows for a wrist strap as well as a d-garud, and looks appealing. As far as the 3 humps vs. the fusion handle, my theory is that the three pommel styles each serve different purposes based on the size of knife they are located on. with the smaller knives, using the butt of the knife wouldn't be all that efficient as a hammer, but would be good at "skull crushing" so they have the skull crusher pointed pommel. It's functional as a hammering point, but its not meant to be dedicated to that purpose (like something similar to the ergo pommel would be)

The fusion handled knives are very large, and you can use the back of the blade as a hammer with as much if not more efficiency (and safety) as using the handle. so having the skull crusher pommel gives them more versatility.

The mid range sf handled knives are neither here nor there, but have a little of each. The three humps allow for some level of dedicated point striking (the skull crusher having only one (applying the most force in a localized area), but has a broad enough spread for the 3 humps that it can be used in to the same effect as the ergo style during hammering.

or something like that....

I always found the term "fighter" from busse to be somewhat interesting, in that it generally denoted the thickest heaviest build of any of the current series. The pbf's were pretty ridiculous, requiring massive grinding to and reprofiling to get the edge down to 24 degrees per side. on the tip's it was impossible, unless you wanted to overtake the entire main grind and reprofile it in a similar fashion to the force one where the cutting edge is the main grind (pukko style).

for me, a knife that can't cut efficiently is worthless as a fighter, unless you want it to serve solely as a stabbing instrument, and even then I'd like a relatively thin point to allow some penetration rather then small area blunt force, which could be achieved with the skull crusher pommel.

so for me, the "fighters" in the busse combat line represent a kind of "tank combat" knife, something that is meant solely to take massive and unyielding abuse every time it is used, and not much else. they are the forced entry knives of the entire line.

but this is all just personal opinion. I like them because they are a chance to get extra thick over built busse's which up till now had actually been kind of hard. It's really nice having the fat series of knives come out, in particular the hogsj, hogfsh, and fffbm

Come to Canada. There are no laws here about blade length or double-edges. You could carry your AK.

Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout! I just have to talk the wife into it. :o

LVC: that was some great insight. And I have to admit that after using and testing my thinner CG BATAC I am really liking the thinner profiles. I guess I'll just have to have both. ;)Thanks.

the f1 isn't balanced very well for a fighter imo. it is rather sluggish and blade heavy but it sure does look cool

I'm waiting on a sheath for my BATAC. Afterwards, it's going to be in the EDC rotation. Same goes for the SS. I know I could go bigger, but I am a teacher, and I have to maintain a certain degree of decorum.

So TL, any update on getting the Force-1? I'm anxiously awaiting the testing vids. :D

I have been at Disney Land since Sun with the family :D. I will be home Tues and see if there is anything waiting there or at the PO. Whether I test it or not depends on how well I like it and if it is CA legal. I don't want to mess it up if I will be trading it. :p But I sure like the looks of it so hope it all work out. Either way I am excited. Updates to follow.
