forge 1090,burnt osage

2nd one of 2009,

It's specs are as follows:

Blade: forged from 1090 round stock, flat ground, tapered tang.

Scales: Burnt and oiled osage from Coal Creek Forge:thumbup:

Pins: 3/32 nickle silver, pins are center punched just for a little detail

Measurements: O.A. 8'', Width at choil 7/8'', Length tip to choil 3 1/2''

Heat Treatment:normalized then annealed after forging, normalized again after grinding, then edge quenched and tempered.

it's nice to know sometimes your work is desireable.......even if it dont sell :D

i was gonna do this with a patina and a tiger striped maple, because i thought the handle resembled a old musket rifle stock... maybe next time.

Thats a sweet knife there. Hey if you get tired of knife making you could always do photography for sweet 16 parties.:D:D:D lol

Ya know I never thought of that , but I dont think many parents of 16 yr. old gals would let a gun/knife toting fella like myself anywhere them. LOL
 
very nice work Andy I still think the one you made with the tiger coral handle is one of the most incredible pieces of work I've ever seen. Keep up the good work.

Never cared much for osage, but the treatment makes it look great on this knife. Also like the flow of the blade. Nice work.

someone gimmi'e $125 on this tonight........were talking hand forged blade,sheath shipped for that price surley wont be going any lower!!!

I work with Osage alot with my bows how did you make that Osage look like tht .
 
mine is just yellow as you can see with my picture up to the left.
