Forge welded SANMAI bars.

AISI 420 on sides and SAE 1070 in core.
Anealling at 730°C for 3h00, turned off tho oven and keep it closed for 12h00. Very soft to work file or drill.
There may be small differences in thickness along the bar, but I can certainly get a 6mm knife after planing.
Well aligned bar also allowing for forge finish.
I always recommend to my clients that they first analyze the sides of the bar, studying the thickness of the 1070 and then considering it during grinding.
The "swipe line" (that gray one separating the carbon from the stainless steel) is well marked and beautiful and I usually leave it 1cm away from the egde.

I have these knives as an example of what sanmai looks like, I'm at your disposal if you have any questions.

two large sanmai bar
Length:14,5"
Width: 2"
Thickness:7mm

smaller bar
Length:9,5"
Width: 2"
Thickness:5mm

I'm asking 100USD + 30 shipping unit value per bar lower 80USD + 30 shipping.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but do these need further heat treat or just grinding to shape?

I'll take the other large and the small bar.
I'll send paypal as soon as you reply.
