Forget Survival knives get a shovel !

LOL, funny vid.

If you look at the price, you'll choke.

Or, you can go to Centerfire Systems and get a Hungarian or East German shovel -- it just doesn't have the bottle opener -- for a lot less.

On a serious note, I think e-tools, especially the older ones with the straight handle and pick are very underrated as woods tools.

I like the music...I feel like an awesome John Wayne movie is starting...

I was actually kinda impressed. That video makes a pretty strong case for that shovel. In a survival situation...

Some of the trenching tools I've picked up surplus would simply not stand up to the kind of abuse you see in that video... and, they are prohibitively heavy (backpacker... always thinking weight). But, for a car/truck tool, that looks pretty mean and multipurpose!

The music does rock.

I think there's definitely a place for shovels in outdoors and survival situations.

That strange bastardization of the theme from The Magnificent Seven –

– was very funny to listen to.

Where did you find the price for this thing? I Googled it and came up with lots of e-tools but not this exact one.

Wow. That music was amazing I was sure John Wayne was going to ride in there and tell him how to dig.

I can't find any pricing info online. Everything requires you to contact the seller with an inquiry. How much have you seen em going for?

I think there's some pretty freakin genious stuff there. Definitely super cool.

If you go onto eBay look up Chinese military Shovel. On there they ran about $85-89.

After watching that vid. I have to tell ya if I was in a jam and that's all I got. It would definitely work. I'd like to pick one up, but maybe a cold steel for now.

+1 for the W German surplus folders with the pick on the back.
not light, but the strongest, most functional pick I've seen outside of a full size "real" one.
I also like my 1980's Swiss surplus fixed blade E-tool (their copy of the spetznatz shovel) and my CS one.

Then maybe the Magnificent Seven is a strange bastardization of "Sichi No Samuri" Don't get me wrong I love both.
I use ( and recommend) The older German versions Both East and West. The Eastern one is smaller lighter with a vague saw edge. Closer in size to the Cold Steel fixed version.
The Western one is heavier longer with a pick attached, but tank tough.
I have sold literally hundreds through work and had one fail out of the box (split handle) never had one returned though.
I have also picked up a Glock ET for nix ( no cost) But haven't given it a run yet.

very interesting. I like it. But I do wonder if it is as strong as it seems in the video.
who will be the first one to get one and test the thing?
