Forty Dollar 4 Max Unbelievable!

I keep buying more. Giving them away to fellas on my Shift when they do an extraordinary deed. Large drug bust, pulled a couple people out of an overturned vehicle that was in a ditch.

I wish I had more, so I always watch Mid… for sales. I hope to outfit my entire shift one day!!!

The scout is the ultimate duty knife!!!
Awesome to show appreciation with a useful tool. Stay safe.

I got my first one just the other day and it was love at first sight. You guys should really check out the tan version, it's beautiful, and it really matches and outlines the construction of the whole thing.
The build is amazing for the price, beautiful full steel liners, not a sharp corner, not a blemish or a stamping defect on the FRN.
The stonewash finish on everything clip included is top notch as well. I got 250$ Spydercos in the past that weren't this well finished.
There is something about the heft as well that makes you perceive the quality even more.
I was also very much surprised coming from my Colossus to see how well it cuts despite the thickness.
It weighs 100 grams more and I know the Colossus makes more sense and is less bothersome to carry as an EDC (besides being arguably a better defensive carry), but I can't quite put the big guy down.
Given the weight I will probably see some arms gains if I keep this up lol.

So, after seeing this thread I grabbed a 4 max scout...

I have to ask, what are you guys using yours for? This thing is comically large (my opinion only, and not an indictment on them at all). I just can't imagine carrying it all the time.

So help an unimaginative guy out... Besides just taking it out to show how huge a knife it is, where does something like a 4 max really shine?
I like it for urban survival kits. So it has that big knife smash things in a pinch vibe. But I can also hide it in a pocket.

So that if I am somewhere the public is gathering. Shelters, hospitals, public transport. I can have that added bit of security on hand.

I can get on to a roof in a flood. Punch though the back window of a bus. Pry open a locker.

So much this, I couldn't have said it better. The Colossus is a big knife and can even split kindling with the triad but the idea of prying with it gives me nightmares, it's basically Endura like in terms of tip

Just got mine a few days ago. If I had known they are this good I would have bought more. Half off on these is a killer deal on a chonk of a knife. I thought my SR1 was a big folder...

The best deal I could find in months in EU was 96€ shipped. With such a discount as the one you're getting I'd gladly take 3 more.
By the way, any experience with the black coated ones? Pretty sure the lockbar will get scuffed quickly, but I'm wondering about the blade coating durability. I don't mind much about scratches, just curious to know how it compares to classic Cold Steel DLC which is awesome. The all blacked out one looks pretty cool.

The only Cold Steel I have with blade coating is the American Lawman but that's DLC coating. I try to avoid anything less than a PVD because I feel like it's a given it's going to scuff like crazy.

Yeah I heard this one is actually PVD. Stonewash is great for hard use, I already batoned the snot out of mine and the scratches barely show. I wonder how PVD would look after a few bushcraft sessions, my Colossus with DLC is basically like new after a being used as my only edged tool on a few outings so if it's anything close I'm sold already

I have a DLC coated Para3 that still looks brand new. I don't know what normal use would cause wear. I'm sure if I scuffed it against a rock it would show wear but I promise not to go around cutting poor rocks in half.

It definitely has the "chop up a car in a pinch" vibe. Still need to get mine out and put it to work, but it's fun to play with while I'm binge watching Dogfights on YouTube.

I had the first Black Knight edition, now I want one of every color. I generally don’t collect for colors ( different steels) but I’ve never found a better value in a pocket knife. I’ve got a few in various bags, bug out / fishing / camping. I’ve got my scout that stays on my patrol uniform. Just so there’s ZERO chance I’m without one. I need a couple more to leave in my vehicles.

When that one place runs the CS 25% off sale combined when they’re already on sale. I’ve picked them up for $27.50. I wish I could buy 10.

I’ve given 4 , I can remember right away, now. I do collect the main series. User and Safe Queen Gen 1 American. User Italian (probably my favorite as it’s the smoothest of them all) now I need a safe queen. Then the …..green / black safe Queen. These really are addictive.

There's a couple of color-variants I've been looking-at. The dark-earth stone-washed, and the O. D. green stone-washed.

I might snap-up an Elite if the price is right.
