I am in! Dave Shirley at Northwoods has always been straight with me, and they look after their customers.

Hey Sunnyd I'm pretty sure that Northwoods supplies their own stag when it comes to knives. I have not seen Queen throw a knife out yet that has the same quality of material that Northwoods has been using.

Just a thought...:confused::)

Hey there Sunburst,

I'd agree that the Scagel-Northwoods knives dressed in Stag that you(and some others) own that I have seen from your pictures in the past have been nothing short of extraordinary. However, their are still others that I have viewed in Stag scales that are pretty much in line with Queen's production knives. So, I recon my point is, between the two,(Queen & Northwoods) what would be the price difference?. And, if there is a nominal difference fine, if not, it may be worth considering getting a bid from Queen as I don't recall ever getting a bad piece from them.

I voted yes, even though this is my first encounter with a slippie forum knife. Would the complete payment be due at once? Or is it a deposit thing. I am moving sometime in June and money is tight right now. I could handle a deposit, but I don't think I could handle a complete payment.

If there's a stockman involved, I'm in. Could someone nudge me when we order these things? I don't get over to Traditional but once in a blue moon, but I sure do like a stockman knife.

I'm in for one. Thanks for your efforts on this.

Hi Gang. Things are in a bit of a rush right now, but I intend to post the next step this week.
I am hoping to move things along. I have started a new job and am pretty busiy, but I think things will sort out quickly.

I will pay up now if needed thanks.

Anthony, I don't think there'd be much of a price difference, I read that Northwoods knives are made by the Schatt and Morgan division of Queen to Dave Shirley's specs, so it's pretty much an upgraded Queen already. I can't see us getting any kind of decent stag knife for under $65 IMHO, although carbon should be (or used to be) cheaper than the stainless varieties. Besides, maybe the Northwoods are sharper;):D

Hey there Eric,

I was hoping you or one of the other fellows with contacts at S&M and/or Queen would chime in here. That's all I needed to know really. I kinda figured it would be a nominal difference but wasn't completely sure.. My curiosity is now satisfied.

Thanks for your input.

Thanks for keeping on top of this. I'm not spending as much time in forums these days as in the past (I got one of them "new job" things, too) and only get to stop in from time to time.

I'm definitely interested in either one. I'll keep checking back to know when/where/how to send money.
