Forum Knife Updates and comments

Is the tang mark stamped in? Or is it CNC routered in with a fine bit? It almost looks like it was machined in.

That stamp looks great! Nice and crisp lettering. I was a little concerned about that considering how long "BLADEFORUMS" is. I guess I shouldn't have been.

Don't care one way or the other about the "dots". The Bladeforums "stamp" looks nice and crisp regardless of how it was created.

I wonder how many club or forum knives Buck has been doing these days?

A lot of work, thought and history are tied into those dots. We wanted our own mark and a petmant one. We did an etched logo but it wasn’t permanent enough.

We had a poll for the tang stamp, I can assure you the dots mean a lot to many of us. For one it shows our commitment as a community to be here for the long haul. Besides, what would that mean to the other 7 knives with dots? ;):)

Shh! Don’t jump the gun, let’s get the 2018 annual in our hands before we go scaring next year’s volunteers away. :D

2 more years folks and we’ll have had a decade of our own stamped knives out there in our members hands. :)

I understand the significance of the dots. They're important to collectors. The "dots" that I was mostly referring to was the one inside the long pull.
 
This year's knife sounds like it's going to be awesome, thank you to everyone hard work. Unfortunately I took some time off the forum and forgot about the forum knife offering. Hopping to pick one of these up on the secondary market once released.

Sadly I too am too new and missed out this year, would have certainly bought one as well. On a positive note, there’s always next year.

Keep your eye on the Exchange for awhile after these arrive. Inevitably folks will be disappointed, or want to buy something else and sell this one off.
 
Well I'm bummed that I missed the boat on this but i'd gladly grab a seat on that sub to retrieve some of those Groovy's :cool:. Put me down for #001 of next years batch ;)
