Forum Knife Updates and comments

Yes but, by now there should be some more WIP's photos to tide us over until then...pretty please ? ;)

She sent it to the correct address.
Postal did not have to forward it.
I have no idea why it took the postal over six years to deliver it.
When I was a schoolboy, thanks to a friend whose dad was a postman I had a summer job in the local central PO. I remember some old ladies sorting the mail that used to keep in the rack in front of them postcards with nice pictures. But they did not keep them more than a few days.
Maybe your postcard slipped behind a rack and they found it when they had new racks installed.

That’s awesome! I love it!

My younger brother has worked for the PO in Anchorage AK for the last 20 years. I always rag on the postal workers and try to get his Hungarian up when we talk.

Your local postal carrier around this time of the year works the equivalent of 2 full time jobs up until end of January when the last of the Christmas returns had finally trickled in. No wonder these folks go “Postal”

This is also the worst time of the year to mail anything. It’s got the best chance of getting lost, destroyed or stolen. This is one of the reasons I try not to mail anything out for repair till after the beginning of the new year.

Pretty much just came in to say...

The next WIP pic should be about 474 boxes sitting on a table looking for shipping envelopes!

Edited... I found the post where SK said how many were ordered (#242)... I mistakenly added 10 in my original post...

That's for sure. The porch pirates go into overdrive between Thanksgiving and Christmas. And unless the value is over $500, the cops won't do anything even if you have a video of the theft. I'm hoping to be home when the forum knife gets here.
Wish delivery services (Post Office, UPS, Fed Ex) would just leave a notice if no one is home. Used to be packages were signed for. Now they usually just leave stuff on the porch. What a stupid practice. Guess it saves some people money and trouble, but I hate it.

That's far and away the largest order for a forum knife yet. I don't think we did that many the first five years combined.
My mistake, the actual number was apparently 474 (edited my original post). Still a large order. I seem to remember some discussion somewhere that the previous year may have been bigger. Not sure about any other numbers.

Getting excited now!
Had to break up the anticipatory anxiety and ordered a new micarta S30V Buck Slim that I'll be picking up this afternoon.
Should tide me over for a while.
