anything you can do if you buy something from a forum member and the only response you hear is "I'll get it out to you" the next day. that was almost 2 weeks ago and I've sent a couple emails requesting shipping info but no response. thread was marked sold and has been closed.

You can post the seller's screenname here, and put it in the thread title too, to bring some heat on him. Who is it? This also helps the rest of us know from whom to buy and who to avoid.

I suppose I will if it comes to that. I expect better though, he's a platinum member with more than 1000 posts and all his feedback is positive. you'd think I might have gotten some communication, at least since I started sending e-mail.

bad things can happen to good folks but 2 weeks with no communication isnt good, the person could be ill or something, hopefully this will be resolved sooner vs later, hope it works out............

did you send him money?

Has it been 2 weeks......... or has it actually been 10 days today????

I did a search and was curious.
I hope everything works out for the best....

you are correct, today is 10 so a week and a half if we're counting days. As I said originally, almost. finally got an email today that he's going to try to check on the shipping so at least I've heard something back after asking over the weekend.

Keep in mind that the mail is running slower right now, first class is much slower than normal.
10 days is a bit long but I did have a priority box that never takes more than two or three days take 17 once.

This is true...This time of the year, all bets are off as far as quick USPS First Class Mail deliveries go...Even Priority Mail can be slower than normal, given the huge amounts of mail & packages the Postal Service has to deal with during the Christmas season.

Have patience...10 days still isn't a month.:).

I think it's still hit and miss though.
I sent out a package on Monday and it was delivered today at 2pm. Not bad.

I expect postal delays which is why I asked for shipping info. On the other hand I just got a package from Canada in 4 days, and I couldn't get a reply to an email in 4 or 5 days. You check your mail you check the thread and watch it get changed and updated from SPF to sold and still no reply for the next 2-3 days. What would that say to you? I'm not trying to be a jerk, that's why I don't want to post names and threads and such, I just wanted advice since I couldn't get a response by e-mail. Could have been on vacation or in the hospital for all I knew, I just knew he was on line and not talking to me. :D

Yes, it can be frustrating when you buy something on the forums and don't hear anything from the seller once you pay. I've only had it happen once or twice. Items eventually showed up, just bothered me that the seller didn't think it necessary to drop me a note and tell me that the item had shipped and give me a delivery confirmation #. For me, part of a good transaction is providing shipping details to the buyer. It shows good faith on the part of the seller.

My suggestion is to email a link to this thread to the seller and politely say that you will wait a couple more days for the item to arrive, or for the seller to contact you directly with shipping details, before you post his information in the thread. Don't threaten, just inform.

And yes, shipping can be strange right now, but 10 days is really pushing it.

well there you go, package got returned with unreadable address, sender out of town with limited internet, package being resent, YEAH!

What happens if the entire outside of the package is damaged and both the addressee and return address are illegible? What the Postal Service recommends is that you put a piece of paper INSIDE the package with the address, so the "dead letter office" can find it and redirect it to the intended recipient.

I always try to remember to do this, and in fact I just got a package today from Rhesus Feces inside which he taped my name and address, a duplicate of the mailing label on the outside.

+1. That is something I have learned here and is now SOP for all my shipping, to have a address label inside the box.
