I made this prototype many years ago, made from heat-treated 17-4PH steel, with a heat-treatment of H900 it gets to around 45RC maybe.
This is a Fossil digging knife you take to the beach and use it to dig-up Fossils and not worry about breaking it at all, it is one tough tool to have on days down the beach or on an expedition to find minerals.
It will not be highly finished, just bead-blasted with the heat-treatment colour. The versions I will build in this batch will not have the checkering pattern on the handle.
If I get 10 orders on here I will start the project. Feel free to add your name to the list below. Total length will be around 10", thickness around 1/8" (3mm), the material will have minor dents from the cold rolling process as you see on the pictures.
