I live in Taiwan, and just moved into a new apartment. After settled in, I spotted an old knife stabbed into my window frame. It's very hard to notice at first.

It has a deer horn handle and double guard, not the kind of knife you will find in an ordinary Taiwan family.

I asked around in the local knife community, some says it might be some kind of fengshui or wizardry, some says the previous renter hid it there and just forgot.

As a knife knut myself, this made me more curious than scared. Do you ever have the same experience of finding knives in a new home too?

Ive seen things like this, looks like a protection spell. (not that I believe in this) but one of my past jobs was in property rentals......seen allot of dead chickens in closets too.:barf:

Hi. Not in this fashion you're showing but, in some villages in the mountains valleys here, it was ancient tradition to stick a knife (tip down towards the Earth) in the foundations of the house. It was meant as a protection against evil, more an amulet rather than a talisman in this case. Interesting find of yours :) !

It's just a cheap knockoff of a stag hunter. Probably might have even been made in Taiwan 10, or 15 years ago. I see them at flea markets here in the USA a lot. Somebody might have even been trying to make sure the window couldn't be opened from the outside, when they stuck there.

I live in the fifth floor....I don't think anyone would try to break in from the outside.
And as you can see, it has window railings, so it cannot be opened.

Knives used in rituals and traditions are very interesting!
Some Taiwanese say that the knife is used to break the bad fengshui of the surrounding buildings,
(not sure how to translate it in English)
but it's not a common practice here.

To me it looks like they just used it to hang something from, like some flowers.

^SUPER LOL.

Well the witchdoctor has spoken. Don't F with the knife before you mess up the building's juju and the whole apartment comes down on your head.

That's like the key stone of an arch ! Pull that out and the building will collapse !!!

My house has on the lower half of the front door a decoration like an X. But it's not a decoration , it's a Maltese Cross , there to keep evil spirits out ! Mine hasn't worked very well.
