A strange thing happened today, I was out hiking and had stopped for a rest when I spotted a Seal appear in some shallow water nearby. This Seal was nearly pure white and although I have seen many Seals here before I had never seen one in such shallow water. I ran down to near where it was and was going to take a pic, however when I got there, there was no sign of it, it had vanished into thin air.Anyway this is where it gets a little spooky because when I turned back around, right near my feet I found this Seal skull !

That is wierd. Neato too! Must be cool to see seals.

You have been visited by the legendary "white seal of death". The only method of warding off said Seal is to go home, put on your tin foil hat, sit under your pyramid made of titanium, and drink your own urine.

Good luck with that......

Nice pics as usual PD. :D

Tarmix, that one made me spit my afternoon coffee all over the monitor. That was funny, I don't care what anyone says.

That's a cool skull, pit. You should put Christmas lights in the sockets and set it up in a window. It will keep evil spirits away.

Very cool... ALthough by the thick molars I'd place it as some type of herbivore..Poss a small faun...But being a bone head doesn't mean I know anything about actual bones...spotting seals was one of the cooles things I remember about visitin the west coast of canada when I was a kid....Very cool skull.

You know, now you have said that you have me wondering, I think you might be right. I just assumed with it being at the waters edge it was a seal and then after looking on google my thought seemed right, but they are both very similar.

Really neat! I always like finding critter skulls. My team actually came across a human skull washed up on an island in Lake Erie. It was very old and turned out to be a big pain in the butt. Had to call the RCMP and then they did this whole investigation.

Duh, no I didn't kill the dude ten years ago and just pretent to find it and turn it in....

Those eye sockets are really big for a faun--from what I have seen of deer skulls in the mountains though. Cool pics as usual dog!

Here's a cool 3d animation of a seal skull, if you have quicktime it should work. You can drag it to make the skull spin around. Not that there's really any question, but it does seem to differ quite a bit from the (probably herbivorous) skull you found.

Dude, the point is you were out hiking again. You SO put me to shame. I need to follow your good example. :)
