I can never pass up a cool flashlight, and found this Rayovac Sportsman Xtreme while looking at wally world.

3 watt led, rated at 80 lumens. It has a nice annodized aluminum body, clicky/twisty buttcap and pocket clip. Doesn't feel quite as solid and definitely not as smooth as my E2L, but at $25, it's about $100 cheaper than the Surefire.

It was hard getting a beam shot, but the Rayovac is on the left, SF on the right.

Oh yeah, I like that it runs on two AA's too. I have tons of AA rechargeables.

I just got the 2C 4W model. Says its 150 lumens. I can't measure it, but it looks brighter than my 4D Maglite.

I have a Dorcy 1Watt LED that I have been using for a bike light, but this thing would be a lot brighter. I'll have to keep an eye out for that next time I'm in Walmart. Thanks!

Just got one of those a few weeks ago. Clicky button doesn't work unless I have it in the right position but overall I like it.

I think its 2 hrs at max brightness. That's about what my Surefire gets too.

I just picked up the 1 watt version of the same light at Wally World on Friday. I decided on it over the 3 watt version because I figured that the extra 3 hours of battery life would be worth it. I already carry a SF G3 (sometimes a G2) on my belt for when I need a lot of light, so I'm going to keep this one clipped to my pocket for an everyday tasks light. It's about as bright as a 3AA LED Minimag, but in a MUCH better package (hated everything about the 3AA Minimag BUT the light output). This is one of the best lights out there for the price, IMHO.

There is a similar light (riverrock), that I found at target several months ago. Same setup of 3 watt and 2xAA power. Twist buttcap for constant on, with button for short duration elumination. Around $24.00 or so. I also have the 1 watt version of the RiverRock.

Can you guys tell me what the lens looks like. Is it flat glass, or a collumator lens (magnifying glass looking thing)??

Thanks. Thats great news! Those with a lens stink IMHO.

Picked one of these up today. VERY impressive light for the money. I've had my share of Surefires, and they are certainly nice, but it's really hard to justify the price for one when lights like this are available.

I still need to pick up a Fenix for EDC, though. Maybe next payday...

I've got that same 3W light too. Great little light for the money and I've actually found the battery life to be better than they claim it to be. Not crazy about the blueish tint mine gives, but that's a minor complaint. It's taken a couple solid drops on concrete and held up just fine.

That's an awesome deal, I think i'll have to pick one of those up. I got a lithium/xenon light from there not long ago that's a mirror image of a SureFire. It puts out great light and has worked great, and at much less the price.

I've seen the Rayovac ones and maybe the camo one at Menards as well, don't recall any prices though.
