I have a bit of a story here...
The Sunday after Christmas, my extended family had all gathered to open presents. Zip ties inevitably held several children's toys hostage and literally everyone turned to me and asked for my knife. (I have a reputation, you see.) Given that I had been to an out-of-town church, I hadn't put my EDC in my dress pants. When I gave the excuse that I don't have a "dress pants knife," my sister-in-law asked if that was a thing.
So I googled it and found this 'ere place.
Now, I've carried knives most of my life (stole my dad's traditional when I was ten). Prior to stumbling onto the BF, I had carried the odd assortment of knives from traditionals to Wal-Marts to unnecessarily complicated and impractical S&W monstrosities. I felt pretty proud of my current EDC, a SOG Spec Elite I and the most expensive knife I'd ever owned.
Then I saw the picture that changed my life (and my view of Spydies). When I laid eyes on the Vallotton Sub-Hilt, I knew I had to get it. I tossed into my order a Native 5 LW since I had a bit of Christmas money left over. And it was downhill from there. So here's my going-from-complete-quality-knife-ignorance-to-obsession-in-two-weeks collection:
The knife that started it all.
The rest of the bunch.
I'm personally in love with Natives.
And here's a shot of the whole collection (such as it is) after I finished blowing all my gift monies from the last year.
Anyhow, that's a long "Hi, my name is Phenn and I'm a knife addict." But I figured it was a story worth telling. Can't say enough about how awesome the BF community is.
